I accidentally Married the Leader of the Noble Path

Chapter 36 - Zi Wei's Eastern Qi

Dawn had just broken, and the crowing of roosters still lingered faintly in the air as the couple woke up.

After rising, Qin Nan washed his face with the assistance of his wife. They then headed to the backyard to cultivate together.

Sitting cross-legged and facing each other, they began their cultivation. With the help of Shangguan RouYue’s Supreme Mysterious Pure Yin Body, coupled with the Zi Wei’s Eastern Qi unique to the early morning, Qin Nan’s cultivation progressed at a pace far beyond ordinary cultivators—his efforts yielded twice the results with half the effort.

Zi Wei’s Eastern Qi is a mystical force generated in the fleeting moment when the rising sun collides with the lingering Yin energy of the night. This pure Qi surpasses spiritual energy in refinement and is highly beneficial for cultivators, subtly enhancing their constitution and advancing their cultivation level.

After two hours of cultivation, the couple stopped, having already absorbed all the Zi Wei’s Eastern Qi in the vicinity. Any further cultivation would yield minimal results.

Besides, there were other matters to attend to.

Ending their meditation, they returned to the house. Shangguan RouYue prepared two steaming bowls of noodles, enriched with chunks of meat, eggs, and scallions—a hearty breakfast.

After finishing the meal and tidying up, they readied themselves to set out.

Stepping outside, Qin Nan retrieved a delicate willow leaf from the seams of his belt. Tossing it into the air, the leaf expanded instantly, transforming into a floating leaf-shaped vessel.

Qin Nan leaped aboard first, then extended a hand to pull his wife up. She was so light that she practically floated, a testament to her meager diet.

Indeed, Shangguan RouYue ate sparingly, always chewing slowly and savoring each bite. Despite her modest appetite, her figure was not overly thin. Her form was elegant and shapely, with just the right curves in all the right places.

Her conservative dress often downplayed her assets, but Qin Nan couldn’t help but marvel at her beauty. In his eyes, there wasn’t a village girl who could compare to her.

The two of them sat atop the jade-like willow leaf as it soared swiftly through the air, cutting through the clouds with ease.

An hour later, they had crossed the sprawling mountain forests and reached the flatlands, where the familiar sight of Yangshun City greeted them.

Descending directly onto the main street at the city’s center, the couple set up their usual stall to sell medicine.

This was their first visit to Yangshun City since their last incident—a dramatic event that had unexpectedly turned into excellent advertising for Qin Nan’s wares.

Before they even finished setting up, eager customers had already gathered around, clamoring to buy.

Clearly, the previous commotion had made a lasting impression. Some even speculated that Qin Nan wasn’t an ordinary medicine seller but a young master from a prominent family, slumming it for amusement.

Regardless of the rumors, one thing was undeniable: the efficacy of Qin Nan’s medicines.

It looked like today would be another profitable day.

Thanks to the herb fields, Qin Nan had recently harvested a bounty of medicinal ingredients and refined a significant batch of products. Among them were some inferior versions of the Minor Essence Pill that he had decided to sell today.

While Minor Essence Pill were common in the world of cultivation, they were considered life-saving miracles to ordinary people. With their versatile effects, including extending life and improving health, they were highly sought after and naturally expensive.

Even the inferior versions should fetch at least fifty gold coins each. At an auction, they might even go for two hundred.

In truth, selling Minor Essence Pill for money was somewhat wasteful—they should ideally be traded for spirit stones.

Gold and silver might be valuable to ordinary people, but to cultivators, they were insignificant. Spirit stones, on the other hand, were the true currency of the cultivation world.

“I’ll take all your medicines,” a refined-looking middle-aged man approached the stall and said calmly. “If convenient, let’s discuss the price in a more private setting. I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.”

Qin Nan studied the man. His tone was serious, and his demeanor suggested he wasn’t joking. His poised bearing and sharp energy marked him as no ordinary individual—likely a cultivator.

“Fine. Let’s see if your offer lives up to your promise,” Qin Nan replied.

“Rest assured,” the man said warmly.

Qin Nan quickly packed up the stall, rolling up the cloth along with the bottles and jars in one swift motion.

Shangguan RouYue took the large bundle from her husband, tucking it into her sleeve with a casual flick of her wrist. The bundle disappeared without a trace, as though by magic.

The middle-aged man’s eyes widened.

A spatial technique—A world within the sleeve. This alone demonstrated Shangguan RouYue’s remarkable cultivation, far exceeding the abilities of most. Even Yangshun City’s strongest, Wei Yanxin, couldn’t perform such a feat.

The man’s presence had cleared a path for them, as no one dared to obstruct their way.

Following the man, they arrived at a grand and imposing pharmacy.

The gold-lettered sign read Miracle Medicine Pavilion.

Qin Nan felt a sense of irony as he stepped inside.

A humble street vendor like him entering Yangshun City’s largest and most renowned pharmacy—it was an odd juxtaposition.

If this man was part of Miracle Medicine Pavilion, he wasn’t merely here to buy Qin Nan’s medicine. There was likely more at play.

If they harbored ill intent, hoping to eliminate him as a competitor, Qin Nan wasn’t worried.

After all, with Shangguan RouYue by his side, even the city’s so-called number one expert would have no choice but to kneel.

Ascending the stairs, they were ushered into a private parlor where a seductive woman awaited.

She was about thirty years old, her attire revealing and her neckline low, exposing a fair expanse of skin.

Her makeup was skillful—not too heavy, yet not entirely understated either, with red lips and shadowed eyes that added a certain allure.

As the couple approached, a faint, unnatural fragrance wafted over—clearly a perfume rather than natural body scent.

Qin Nan remained indifferent, but Shangguan RouYue frowned, clearly displeased by the woman’s provocative appearance.

“Please, take a seat,” the woman said.

After they were seated, the middle-aged man tactfully poured tea for them.

Qin Nan didn’t stand on ceremony, draining the cup in one gulp.

The man promptly refilled it.

“So, you want to buy all my medicine?” Qin Nan asked.

“Exactly. Your medicines are exceptionally effective—better even than what Miracle Medicine Pavilion offers,” the woman replied.

“So, you’re worried my sales will hurt your business, and you want to buy me out?” Qin Nan asked, his tone testing.

“That’s one way to put it. Rest assured, we won’t shortchange you,” the woman said.

“And if I refuse?” Qin Nan pressed.

“Nothing drastic. But I’d still prefer if you sold to us. Why not hear our offer first?” she said diplomatically.

Her gaze flitted briefly to Shangguan RouYue, a hint of apprehension in her eyes.

In the past, the woman might have considered using threats, but with Shangguan RouYue present, that thought didn’t even cross her mind.
