Chapter 24: 23. Summoning shenanigans
Father was sitting in his house, sighing. "Huuuuh, this is going to be a long day." He was thinking about Acheron. "I should tell Lord Fazum about this." He stood up and went outside. He headed straight to the castle to meet his King, Lord Fazum. He kneeled. "My King, there have been some complications."
Fazum looked at him. "Explain."
"Yes, my King. The Sword Saint Acheron is in the city."
The King stood up from his throne. "WHAT? Are you sure?"
The man nodded. "There is no denying it. The giant blade I saw. Her hair. The clothing style. It's her."
The King began pacing and biting his thumb. "Nononono. If she sees our ritual, we are done for."
Acheron stood in front of the inn. The girl said, "So here is the inn. Let's go, let's go in." She spoke energetically. They entered, and a woman yelled, "Welcome to the Bolgs Inn! Please sit down; I've got my hands full right now!" She moved through the inn, serving mead and meals to other patrons. Acheron was sitting and waiting.
"So, what will it be?" asked the woman.
"I would like a room for one night," said Acheron.
The woman nodded. "Fine, 5 copper, please."
Acheron handed her the money. The little girl pulled Acheron's sleeve. "Well, goodbye, beautiful lady."
Acheron rustled her hair and nodded. The girl ran out of the inn. 'Well, that was nostalgic.' That energetic behavior reminded her of Milim.
The innkeeper coughed. "Well, let me show you the bed."
---
Hours passed, and Acheron lay meditating on the bed, her senses sharp. She felt a strange presence, but it was distant, like a whisper at the edge of her awareness. Dismissing it for now, she stood, undressing to wash herself.
Far away, in her sanctuary, Luminous lay sprawled on the ground, blood pouring from her nose as her face burned crimson. Her mind was filled with unbidden images of Acheron's bare form. She let out a groan. "Ahhh, I can go to heaven now…"
"LUMINOUS-SAMA!" Gunther screamed, rushing to her side. "Are you alright?!"
---
Some hours later in the kingdom, King Fazum watched as his followers in the secret chamber drew magical circles with blood. "How long is this going to take?" he asked impatiently.
One of them bowed. "My King, it will be a few more hours."
Fazum bit his nails. 'If the Sword Saint catches us before the summoning, we are done for.'
He looked at the gruff man, the father of Masha. "Bring the sacrifice. Hurry it up, you useless meathead."
The man bowed. "Yes, it will be done." He ran through the city, thinking, 'I must hurry.' He got home and opened the door with a loud banging sound.
"Papa, what is happening?"
Father kneeled to her. "Masha, let's go see the King."
"But why?"
"He wants to see you. He said that he will give you candy and lots of other things."
Masha smiled. "Okay."
On the other side of the city, Acheron was standing at the exit gate. "This is not a toilet," she muttered.
One of the guards saw her. "Hello, lady. What are you doing here at night?"
She looked around. "I am lost."
The guard raised an eyebrow. "Where do you want to go?"
"Toilet."
"What?"
"..."
"..."
Acheron turned away and started walking straight toward the Bolgs Inn, but she turned right and ended up heading in the wrong direction.
Masha was looking at the King. He placed her in the middle of a circle. "Now be a good girl and stay in one place. After that, you will get some candy."
Masha nodded. The mages began chanting. The room became turbulent.
"HAHAHA! Yes, when I summon the demon, not even the Sword Saint will be able to stop me!" Fazum exclaimed.
Every candle went out. Masha collapsed like a puppet with its strings cut. A second later, she opened her eyes. But they were different. She looked at herself in disgust. "You have placed me in the body of a child?"
Fazum smiled. "Hehe, you will do my bidding, demon. Help me conquer other nations!"
The demon, in Masha's body, smiled. "Heeee, and what will you give me in exchange?"
Fazum grinned. "You can do whatever you want with the armies and the citizens."
The demon sighed. "Very well, I will do that because it looks like fun. You have a deal."
Fazum smiled and wrote his name on the contract. The demon looked at the small body she was inhabiting. "Well, I will have to change this form."
Masha's body began to contort. Sickening cracks of flesh echoed as her body grew larger. Her hair turned white, her eyes turned red, and her body gained an otherworldly allure.
Fazum started to drool.
The demoness shoved her foot into his groin. "Well, you have become my dog."
A chain manifested around his neck. "Huh?" Fazum was flabbergasted.
The demoness smiled sweetly. "Well, you haven't read the contract. Right now, you have become my slave. And since you are the King, that means this kingdom has become my slave too."
Fazum fell to his knees in pain. Then, with her foot, she lightly stomped on his head, burying it into the ground. "Well, I will enjoy myself."
She began to cast a barrier. It enveloped the whole country. But something was amiss. She didn't know what—or rather, who. She sensed it in the castle.
---
Acheron was looking at the throne.
"..."
"Where am I"
She didn't know where she was. A second ago, she had been at the exit of the country, and now she was in some kind of mansion?
"Hmmmm, what an interesting thing we have here."
Acheron rotated her head and saw a woman with white hair and red eyes. Acheron recognized this kind of aura. She'd seen it from Guy. "You are a demon."
The woman smiled. "And what are you going to do?"
Acheron tilted her head. "What should I do?"
The demon looked confused. "I thought you would attack me. You humans have a lot of those thoughts."
"Well, I am not human."
"I see."
Acheron looked at the demon, who began to radiate aura. "But it seems that you want to fight me."
"Yes, I would definitely like that. I don't have a name, so you can call me Blanc."
"Acheron."
