Chapter 56: "Uwaa… This is so embarrassing…"
"We need to go higher," I said as the wind picked up around us. We raised ourselves further and further up into the sky to avoid the sand storm below us. "Are you alright Haku?" I asked the girl in my embrace.
"It's fine mistress," she said.
I nodded a little and increased my force output. I kept at it until I found myself staring at a village hidden in the sand far below me. "We're here, that old pervert better be right."
I willed myself into a free fall and the two of us started falling down straight towards the Kazekage Tower. Some shinobi spotted us but I quickly erected a tight shield to stop them. I landed gently on top of the roof and five shinobi surrounded us.
"Halt!" they all exclaimed.
I raised my hands and Haku also did the same. "The Kazekage is expecting us. Tell him that Haios and Haku has arrived," I told them.
One of the shinobi disappeared and we simply waited. After a minute, the door to the tower opened and the Kazekage stepped out of it. "I've been expecting you two," he said coldly. "Please enter."
"Hold on, Haku," Haku handed me a long bandage. "Good," I raised my middle finger up in the heavens before blindfolding myself. "I'm in your care Haku chan, please be gentle."
The two of us were led by the Kazekage into the tower. I made a vacuum bubble around my body and I'm floating a few inches off the ground. This way, I literally have no idea where the Kazekage is going to take us.
Well, I do know, it's a super secret chamber in the Kazekage Tower. But where exactly that is, is a complete mystery.
Soon enough, I cannot feel Haku pushing me around anymore. She opened my blindfold and I found myself standing inside a large room. Anko stood in front of me with a look of extreme frustration and anger.
"FUCK!"
"Well old man is dead, Ino is definitely dead, so fuck indeed."
Anko's expression turned grim. "Yes, I've heard. Both were also mind controlled by the Akatsuki aren't they?"
"Yes, yes they are," I sighed a little. "Is Kabuto safe?"
"Yes, he's-" I forcefully clamped her mouth shut with the force.
"Vida only knows as much as I do," I told her. "Kabuto, Naruto, Sasuke, and Jiraiya's position is critical information. As long as they're kept hidden from me, then Vida will never know about this."
Anko nodded a little and opened her mouth. "Then, what should I do?"
I smirked a little and patted Haku's shoulder. "Tell everything you know to Haku here," I told her. "I'll go wait outside and Haku will tell me what to do. I'll try my best not to guess your plans."
Haku blindfolded me once again and pushed me around some more. "Stay here mistress, I'll be back shortly," she said before her presence vanished from around me.
So here I am, ruminating in the silence. I can't help but chuckle at this desperate measures. I mean, for as long as I can remember, I've always been the type of character who dislike secrets. If a side character even dares to keep something important from me, I will make sure I know about it or I will treat her as enemy.
Now I'm actively keeping myself away from the truth. Literally, just floating in the middle of who knows where and not knowing what's happening. "You must be so frustrated right now Vida," I said tauntingly. "Or maybe impressed? I mean, you always seem to sing praises at me whenever I did something new in my hundreds of years of existence."
After what felt like hours, I felt someone opening my blindfold. I let go of my vacuum bubble and opened my eyes.
There is only darkness as far as eyes can see. I cannot see anything and I do not dare to use the force to feel my surroundings. I can hear Haku breathing softly in front of me.
"Okay, is it done?"
Haku nodded a little. "It is done mistress. I'm sorry, but I have to keep a few things away from you."
"Well obviously," I told her. "So, where to now?"
"Now we're going back to Konoha to meet up with Shikamaru," Haku replied.
I was about to blindfold myself when Haku stopped me. "I'd rather keep this secret room a secret you know?" I told her
"It's alright mistress, we're already in Konoha…"
Everything around me shatters and I found myself standing a midst broken mud dome. I looked around and stared at the numerous craters surrounding us. "Training Ground Moon," I said in awe. "Hell yeah Sakura!!!"
Speak of the doctor and the doctor shall come. This one appears in a cloud of smoke. "Haios chan! Welcome back," she walked up towards me and flashed her flashlight. "Barely alive, as usual," she said before a soothing sensation spread across my body.
"So, what now Sakura?"
Sakura folded her arms. "Well, it's simple really, we're going to have you here and…"
[LINE BREAK]
"Bullshit," Vida said to herself before taking a sip of her tea. "Using Haios chan to feed me misleading information," she closed the browser and pocketed her phone. She then turned towards Konan who's been sitting beside her like a good pet.
"Konan chan," Vida smiled at her and gently pet her head. "You think you're so clever don't you?" she looked at her right in the eyes. "Telling Jiraiya about me… You were so close Konan chan, so… close…" she put her pointer finger and thumb close together.
There was a sizzling sound yet Vida's smile didn't falter. "Don't say I didn't warn you…"
The world lights up as the force of a million paper bombs were unleashed all at once. By all means, the explosion should have swallowed everything in the hideout and destroyed everything.
However, Konan found everything unscathed save for herself. She looked around and saw cracks in reality itself. She saw Vida sitting beside her, still sipping on her tea. Konan tried to touch her but cannot seem to reach her, so close yet so far.
Then, the cracks disappeared and Vida turned towards her. "I've made a promise not to kill you Konan chan," she commented.
Konan dropped on the table, her internal organ crushed by the explosion. She tried to say a word but nothing came up. Her brain can't even process the pain of the explosion itself.
"Though, I'm not gonna stop you if you feel like doing it yourself," Vida added.
It's hard to pin point exactly when Konan died. Her eyes were hollow and lifeless to begin with. Her body was broken days before. She sat still motionless on the tea table, burned and broken.
Vida made a portal beside her and dragged out a random woman. "Shh," she said before she could say a word. "Listen, you're going to die, so close your eyes and I'll make this quick."
With the help of her eyes, Vida used the impure resurrection on Konan.
However…
"Huh, oh wow…" Vida put a hand over her mouth. "She outsmarted me…" she discarded both corpses around her. "I can't believe it…" she covered her face with both of her face.
"Uwaa… This is so embarrassing…"
