Beast Taming Patrol

Chapter 128: The Final Assessment Task

Time on the battlefield waits for no one.

In the continuous fighting on the border frontlines that lasted years, a day passed in the blink of an eye.

The 19th Combat Team, who decided to stay on the battlefield until the end of the ten-day mission, also grew rapidly through combat.

Driven by hatred and contribution points, the team members spared no effort in each subsequent battle to kill as many beasts as possible, without holding back at all.

All their kill targets had been completed, and even the extra combat requirements had been met, which meant they could slay beasts on the battlefield without any reservations.

Anything that wasn't on the human side was to be killed!

On the fifth day of combat, the team eradicated a total of 923 elite-class beasts, including 31 of the Monarch species.

On the sixth day of combat, the team eradicated a total of 1021 elite-class beasts, including 26 of the Monarch species.

On the tenth day of combat, the team eradicated a total of 1310 elite-class beasts, including 45 of the Monarch species.

Each day, their total kill count record was updated, and every time they joined the battle, the members of the 19th Reserve could cause more damage than other combat units capable of Guardian Beast Co-operation.

The targeting of Monarch-class beasts never ceased.

After Instructor Tang Long was injured and retreated to the rear, another instructor took over on the same day, with even stronger abilities; his guardian beast had evolved to the Monarch level and was fearless against Monarch Power.

In the six days following, the Monarch-class beasts organized three large-scale targeted attacks, using suicidal assaults of commanding-class beasts to divert the instructor's attention and strike at the reserves.

Yet each time, they were nipped in the bud.

Besides another instructor unexpectedly getting injured in the process and retreating to the rear like Tang Long, the entire Team 19, from the reserves to the instructors, suffered zero fatalities.

Real combat is the best way to forge the strong.

Whether it's for the guardian beasts that continually launch skill attacks or for the Beast Tamers constantly giving commands and guiding their beasts in attack, in a battlefield that never lacks combat, they all could achieve all-around improvements.

Before coming to this battlefield, the entire combat team only had four or five guardian beasts capable of Tier III skills, but after ten days, more than half of the team's guardian beasts mastered Tier III skills through repeated daily use.

Plus, with the hundreds of contribution points received daily and the extra points from kill missions, even the weakest member of the team had amassed a four-digit total of contribution points over ten days.

The squad members' gains could be described as sizeable.

As for Lin Su, the captain,

with Qiuqiu and Ghost competing against each other, he was able to kill over five hundred beasts every day, earning tens of thousands of contribution points. Over ten days, his contribution points from kills had reached as much as a hundred and twenty thousand.

Such an amount of points would be unremarkable for a Master-class combatant who had fought for years, but for an Elite-class member of the reserves who had yet to master Guardian Beast Co-operation, it was quite shocking.

Lin Su had already segregated this portion of kill contribution points into a separate account from his other points.

To him, tens of thousands of points could be easily earned by simply announcing an evolution of the Monarch species in the Divine Martial World on Blue Star, which would be much easier than risking his life in battle for ten days.

But the significance was different.

Strictly speaking, these were the points he earned with his own abilities, and every time he saw them, he would remember himself and his beasts fighting on the battlefield.

So, he intended to never use these points and keep them as a memento.

For Lin Su to disregard such a huge amount of points as a souvenir, he must be the only one capable of doing so.

The skills of Qiuqiu and Ghost either had reached Tier III or had just broken through Tier II not long ago, still far from Tier III.

Even as they trained on the battlefield, both beasts would also challenge the Beast Tower in the Divine Martial World once daily, which wasn't enough to push their skills to the next breakthrough.

For now, only Ghost's Monarch Power, with the help of the Golden Feathered Vulture, had been enhanced to the brink of Tier II, with other skills still requiring a significant amount of practice to break through.

"Drip~"

A drop of sweat trickled down from Lin Su's forehead, merging with the traces already on his cheeks and joining other large beads of sweat until it finally fell into the milky water of the bath.

Lin Su's expression was one of pain and fierce determination, yet his body remained as still as a boulder, seated in the bathtub without the slightest tremor.

As time went on, the milky water gradually became turbid and its color deepened to a shade of brown.

Eventually, the entire bathtub turned brown, and the mild glow of milky white quietly faded away.

Only when this happened did Lin Su, his expression now completely relaxed, show a hint of ease on his face.

Stepping out of the tub and washing off the filth from his body, Lin Su casually picked up a crystal bottle the size of a knuckle and scrutinized it for a moment, a smile forming on his face.

This was his last Bone Tempering session.

By completing this final Bone Tempering, Lin Su had finally reached the pinnacle of the Body Refining Realm.

With a mix of excitement, Lin Su quickly suited up in his combat gear and turned to Ghost, who was curiously peering over, "Get my gun, I want to try it out!"
