The victory over Hiro had ignited a firestorm of excitement in Kai's chest, but deep down, he knew his journey was far from over. The thrill of defeating Shadow Basilisk echoed through the city, spreading whispers of his strength and the power of Inferno Draconix. But where there were flames, there were always new storms gathering.
Kai stood outside the Beyblade Academy's main training complex, the wind tugging at his jacket. Taro jogged up beside him, wide-eyed and grinning.
"Dude, you're a legend now!" Taro exclaimed. "Everyone's talking about how you beat Hiro. People think you're the next top blader!"
Kai smirked but kept his eyes forward. "I'm not interested in fame. There's always someone stronger out there. I need to keep pushing."
Taro chuckled. "You sound like a battle-obsessed maniac… and I'm all for it. So, what's next? More training?"
Before Kai could answer, a low, commanding voice cut through the air.
"You think defeating Hiro makes you the strongest?"
Both boys turned to see a tall figure approaching. His sharp eyes gleamed under a dark cap, and his gloved hand gripped a sleek, black-and-silver launcher. A cold smirk curved his lips.
"My name is Kaito Ryuga," he said, his tone filled with quiet menace. "And you've just stepped into a bigger storm than you can handle."
Taro's smile faltered. "Ryuga… You're from the Northern Circuit! You dominated every tournament last season!"
Kai's eyes narrowed. "If you're here for a challenge, you won't find me backing down."
Ryuga held up his Beyblade. It was sleek and predatory, its design etched with stormy waves and jagged lightning patterns. The metallic beast's name hung in the air like a thunderclap.
"Tempest Leviathan."
The wind seemed to swirl around them as he spoke, the air growing heavy with tension.
Minutes later, they faced each other in a wide, open training arena. The ground beneath them felt charged, as if nature itself was bracing for the clash.
Taro stood to the side, his heart pounding. "This guy is no joke, Kai. Be careful."
Kai steadied his breath. "I don't care who he is. Draconix and I will break through any storm."
The referee raised his hand. "Bladers, ready!"
Kai and Ryuga locked eyes, their launchers primed.
"Three… two… one… Let it rip!"
Inferno Draconix launched into the arena with a trail of flames, its spin fierce and relentless. Tempest Leviathan hit the ground with a crack of thunder, its spin ring crackling with electric blue energy.
"Draconix, Flame Spiral!" Kai commanded.
The fire vortex roared to life, spinning outward with deadly heat. Draconix charged, flames swirling around it.
Ryuga's eyes never wavered. "Leviathan, Storm Guard."
A gust of wind erupted from Tempest Leviathan as its spin accelerated. The flames of Draconix collided with a swirling shield of air, the fire bending and scattering in all directions.
Kai gritted his teeth. "What?!"
Ryuga's smirk grew. "Storms smother fire. Leviathan's defense is absolute."
Tempest Leviathan shot forward, crashing into Draconix with a force that sent sparks flying. The impact rocked the stadium, and Draconix was thrown back, its flames flickering under the storm's relentless pressure.
Kai fought to regain control. "Draconix, hold steady! Build the fire!"
Inferno Draconix stabilized, its core flames glowing brighter. Kai's heart raced. He thinks storms smother fire? Let's see what happens when the fire fights back!
"Now! Draconix, Flame Surge!"
The fiery Beyblade condensed its energy, flames swirling into a concentrated core before blasting forward with a spiraling inferno.
"Leviathan, Tempest Clash!" Ryuga commanded.
The storm Bey unleashed a torrent of wind and lightning, colliding head-on with the Flame Surge. The arena exploded with heat and electricity, a dazzling storm of fire and fury.
Both Beyblades spun furiously, neither giving an inch. Sparks flew, the ground trembled, and the crowd held their breath.
