Breaking Her Innocence

Chapter 10: Chapter 9

Sharon parked her sleek black car in her usual spot at Levesque University. The parking lot was buzzing with activity, especially on the second day of the semester—a day known for the aftermath of the first-night party.

Gossip spread like wildfire across the university, especially after word got out that Sharon had let a newcomer, a French girl, take the highly-coveted "seat" at yesterday's party. Students gathered in clusters, speculating about who Sharon might have brought to campus today.

"I'm betting all my allowance this month that Sharon has the Irish girl with her," one student said, flipping through pictures of her on Instagram. "She's stunning!"

Her friend disagreed, shaking her head. "No way. My money's on the French. Sharon let her take the seat yesterday, and she's probably the one who stayed overnight."

"Why are you so sure about that?"

"Are you kidding? We're talking about Sharon Morningstar—the most legendary player in this university. I bet the Irish girl she banged last night is too sore to even get out of bed this morning."

"Damn, why didn't I think of that?"

"Because you're dumb," her friend teased with a laugh. "By the way, I heard Meira dominated the dance floor last night?"

"Yeah, but Navia was the one who really ruled the night. She even brought toys, apparently."

"The Swedish girl demanded it?"

"Yep. Lucky her, though she probably won't be walking properly for a week."

Their conversation was interrupted by a commotion. "Oh my god, Sharon is here!" one of the students yelled.

A wave of excitement rippled through the crowd as Sharon stepped out of her car. Her effortless confidence and sharp features drew gasps and cheers from her fans.

"Good morning, Sharon! Goodness, why are you so pretty?!"

"My day is already perfect because of you!"

Sharon leaned casually against the hood of her car, her arms crossed. Her amused smile only fueled the hysteria. She greeted a few students with nods and brief replies, keeping her tone light but distant.

"Are you with someone today?" one brave fan asked.

Sharon smirked, her expression teasing. "What do you think?"

The crowd buzzed with anticipation, each student hoping to be the one to guess correctly.

"I'm with my younger sister," Sharon finally said, silencing the chatter.

The revelation was met with stunned silence.

"You have a sister?" someone asked hesitantly.

Sharon nodded, her smirk softening. "I don't talk about my family much, but yeah. She's starting studies here today."

The students exchanged whispers, their excitement now laced with curiosity.

"Could you all give us some space?" Sharon requested, her tone polite but firm. "She's not used to this kind of environment and might feel overwhelmed."

The crowd quickly obliged, stepping back to create a pathway.

Sharon knocked on the car window and said with a smirk, "Come on, Jeanne d'Arc. They won't bite."

Inside the car, Katarina—born in Orléans, France, and fondly nicknamed Jeanne d'Arc by Sharon—was finishing a call with Nivada, her stepmother. She had been venting about Sharon's brusque attitude, though she conveniently left out the more intense details.

When she finally stepped out, Katarina froze, overwhelmed by the sea of eyes on her. The crowd's reaction was immediate.

"It's the French girl!"

"So she's the one Sharon fetched yesterday."

"But isn't Sharon asian?"

The students whispered among themselves, piecing together bits of Sharon's family history.

"We're not blood sisters," Sharon clarified before anyone could ask further questions.

The student ohh-ing while nodding.

"What's her name?" a student called out.

"Ask her yourself," Sharon replied, her tone indifferent as she began walking toward their department.

Katarina hurried to keep up, clutching the strap of Sharon's bag for balance.

"What's your name?" one of the students asked Katarina directly.

"I'm Katarina," she said softly, her voice laced with nervousness. Her dimples appeared as she spoke, instantly melting the crowd's hearts.

"Goodness, did you see her dimples?!"

"She's adorable!"

Katarina's cheeks flushed at the attention. She wasn't used to such open admiration, let alone the colorful language some of the students used.

"Welcome to Levesque University," several students chimed in, smiling warmly at her.

"We'll treat your sister well," one assured Sharon.

"Do as you please," Sharon said nonchalantly.

"Can we court her?" someone joked.

Sharon stopped walking and turned to face them, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Only if you're willing to spend one night with me first."

The bold remark left the students stunned and blushing. Sharon smirked and led Katarina up the stairs to the administration office, her hand lightly guiding the younger girl.

Behind them, the students stood frozen, whispering amongst themselves.

"She's so confident. How can anyone resist her?"

"I swear, Sharon Morningstar is a goddess."

Their chatter faded as Sharon and Katarina disappeared into the building. Inside, Katarina let out a small sigh of relief, the overwhelming attention finally behind her.

"Thank you for helping me," she said quietly.

"Don't thank me yet," Sharon replied, her tone unreadable. "You've barely scratched the surface of what this place is like."

As they walked into the office, Katarina couldn't help but wonder what exactly her step-sister meant—and why a small shiver ran down her spine.

Sharon barged straight into the Supreme Student Government room without bothering to knock. She hopped up onto the edge of a desk, crossing her legs as if she owned the place, and greeted the woman seated at the head of the room.

"Good morning, President Heidi," Sharon said, her tone teasing.

Pink-blonde Heidi Park, President of the Supreme Student Government, didn't even look up from her computer. "What's good about this morning when you're here already?"

Sharon smirked, enjoying the reaction. "Why so cold? Is it that time of the month? Guess that means no afternoon quickie?"

The statement was clearly meant to provoke, and Sharon knew it. It was her favorite way to tease her friend, though it held no real meaning.

Heidi finally glanced up, her brow furrowing. "Stop ruining my morning, Sharon."

Chuckling, Sharon leaned back on her hands. "Relax, I'm not here for you. I'm looking for Snow."

Heidi raised an eyebrow. "Why are you looking for her? Did your cousin send you to mess with her again?"

"Don't jump to conclusions," Sharon replied, feigning innocence. "Their business and my business are completely unrelated. I need Snow to guide my sister around campus."

"Sister?" Heidi's expression shifted to one of surprise. "Since when do you have a sister?"

"Am I not allowed to have one?" Sharon shot back, her smirk widening.

"I didn't say that," Heidi replied, shaking her head. "It's just that your profile lists you as an only child."

Sharon sighed. "Step-sister," she clarified, waving a dismissive hand. "It's a long and complicated story, and I'm not in the mood to get into it."

"I didn't ask for the details," Heidi said, returning her focus to her computer. "Anyway, Snow is busy. Why don't you, for once in your life, act responsible and show your sister around yourself?"

Sharon rolled her eyes and mimicked Heidi's tone mockingly. "Why bother? Isn't that what the student council is for?"

Heidi let out an exasperated sigh, clearly fed up with Sharon's antics. "Where is she, anyway?"

"Outside," Sharon replied nonchalantly.

"You left her outside?" Heidi snapped, glaring. "Bring her in."

Turning toward the door, Sharon called, "Jeanne d'Arc, you can come in now!"

Katarina carefully stepped into the room, her nerves evident in the hesitant way she moved.

"Jeanne d'Arc?" Heidi repeated, shooting Sharon a look. "Why are you calling her that?"

"She was born in Orléans," Sharon explained with a shrug. "And she's a virgin and reckless, just like Jeanne."

Heidi sighed, rubbing her temples in frustration. "Don't make fun of the History."

"Who said I was making fun?" Sharon retorted. "I'm just stating facts."

"Apologize," Heidi ordered, narrowing her eyes. "Or I'll make sure every one of your violations is sent to the dean's office."

The threat of consequences made Sharon pause. Remembering the list of things she'd gotten away with—smoking on campus, skipping mandatory events, and more—she sighed and muttered, "Sorry, President Park," in a tone that was anything but genuine.

Heidi shook her head, clearly unimpressed.

Katarina stepped forward, bowing politely. "Good morning."

Heidi's mood softened immediately at the sight of Katarina. The younger girl's dimples and shy demeanor were too adorable to ignore.

"Goodness, how are you this cute?" Heidi said, her lips curving into an uncharacteristic smile.

"Adorable, my ass. She attacks," Sharon muttered under her breath.

Heidi shot Sharon a sharp look. "Shut your mouth, Morningstar." Turning back to Katarina, she said warmly, "So, you're Katarina? Nice to meet you. I'm Heidi Park, the Council President."

"Nice to meet you too, President Park," Katarina said with a small, polite smile that only made her dimples more pronounced.

"Take a seat, please," Heidi offered, gesturing to the chair opposite her desk.

Katarina bowed slightly before sitting down, her manners drawing more praise from Heidi.

"Look at this kid, raised so well," Heidi said, glancing pointedly at Sharon. "Meanwhile, this one is the very definition of a pain in the ass."

Sharon leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees. "I've never spanked you, Heidi, but I'd be happy to if you're volunteering."

"Ugh, you're such a dick," Heidi snapped, clearly flustered.

Sharon leaned back and started humming, "Girls, girls, girls, they love me~"

"Stop with your dirty talk, Morningstar," Heidi snapped before returning her attention to the computer.

Sharon checked the clock. "So, when's Snow getting here?"

"In a minute," Heidi replied.

Almost on cue, the door opened to reveal a pale-skinned girl with striking blue hair. Snow entered, carrying a stack of papers and a box of ink. Her ethereal appearance had earned her the nickname "Vampire" among the students.

"President, I've got the printouts—" Snow paused mid-sentence, noticing Sharon. "Oh, hello, Sharon."

"Hey," Sharon said, hopping off the desk.

Snow's eyes shifted to Katarina, and she smiled. "Who's this adorable being?"

"That's my sister, Katarina," Sharon explained. "She's new here and in she's in your class. Can you show her around and make sure she settles in?"

Snow glanced at Heidi, who gave her a nod.

"She just arrived from France," Heidi elaborated. "It's her first time here in Sierra-Madre. Think you can help her adjust?"

"Of course," Snow said, her smile widening as she turned back to Katarina. "Nice to meet you, Katarina. I'm Snow."

"Nice to meet you too," Katarina replied softly.

Snow couldn't hide her excitement, charmed by Katarina's shyness. "I've seen pictures of you online. You're even more adorable in person."

Katarina blushed, her smile turning sheepish.

Sharon clapped a hand on Snow's shoulder. "Thanks, Snow White. I'll pick her up later at lunch. In the meantime, she's all yours."

Without waiting for a response, Sharon left the room, her confident stride leaving everyone in her wake.

Snow watched her go before turning back to Katarina. "Don't worry, I'll take care of you," she said with a reassuring smile.

Katarina felt a flicker of relief, grateful for Snow's kindness.
