Chapter 235: Chapter 235 – Noble knight
"Eh? Isn't that Yukio-kun?" At the eel farm, when the D-class students saw Yukio and Kamuro heading towards the office, one of them instinctively exclaimed.
This exclamation immediately caught the attention of Horikita, Matsushita, and even Ayanokouji, who was pretending to slack off nearby.
"Yukio?" Horikita's sharp eyes locked onto the figure, and she quickly recognized that it was indeed Yukio. She immediately stepped forward, intending to ask why Yukio had come to the eel farming project.
Matsushita's expression turned serious. Just yesterday, they had made a bet with Yukio, and Karuizawa should be at Yukio's place filming an advertisement today. So why would Yukio suddenly visit their area?
Ayanokouji had a similar thought. He was particularly wary of Yukio, and though he appeared indifferent, his mind was already working to figure out Yukio's purpose for being there.
Horikita quickened her pace, finally catching up to Yukio. Just as she was about to greet him, she saw Yukio suddenly break into a run, grabbing a fishing net pole by the pond and using it to barge open the office door, leaving her utterly baffled.
A roar of "Ah!" echoed from inside the room, causing Horikita to hesitate. Wasn't that Fujii-san's voice? Did Yukio specifically come to the eel farm project to attack its leader?
Inside the room, Fujii was equally bewildered. Where did this fishing net come from?
With an angry roar, he raised one hand, trying to rip off the net constricting his neck. But just as he lifted his hand, he was struck by a powerful blow to the back!
It felt as if his back had been hit by a speeding car, crushing the air out of his lungs with a "whoosh," leaving him gasping for breath, his vision blacking out.
As he was thrown into the wall with a heavy thud, the pain surged through his back and spread across his body, leaving Fujii groaning in agony, unable to utter more than a hoarse "Gah... gah."
From Horikita's perspective, Yukio moved like a fierce tiger, transitioning from extreme stillness to explosive action. First, he netted Fujii, and then, without losing momentum, he discarded the net pole and rushed into the room, delivering a powerful flying kick.
The kick landed squarely on Fujii's back, sending him flying!
Inside the room, Sakayanagi was stunned. She hadn't anticipated that Yukio would appear like a divine soldier descending from the heavens, almost ghost-like, and kick Fujii away.
The violent and brutal aura that erupted in that instant swept through the room, making even Sakayanagi shiver slightly. She hadn't realized before that when Yukio got serious, he could be quite terrifying.
Sakayanagi then mockingly shook her head. This was the kind of feeling one often experienced when their body wasn't up to par. When everything happens so suddenly, the intelligence she usually relied on becomes rather insignificant.
Only someone like Yukio, who could handle any situation, would be able to save her. In the end, it still depended on him for her survival, didn't it?
Sakayanagi cast a delicate glance at Yukio, suppressing the trembling in her heart. She propped herself up from the dirty floor with both hands, struggling to stand: "Yukio-kun really is like a knight from a fairy tale, arriving just in time to save the princess from the dragon."
"Huh?" Yukio kept his eyes on Fujii while glancing at Sakayanagi from the corner of his eye. Seeing her awkwardly getting up from the floor, he couldn't help but smirk: "What kind of princess is this, looking so disheveled?"
"What, did you invite me over just so I could admire how embarrassed you look at this moment?"
Even Yukio hadn't expected to witness such a scene when he first dropped Karuizawa off at the hotel before coming to the fish farm.
Sakayanagi blushed slightly at Yukio's teasing. No matter how calm and elegant she usually was, she had to admit that at this moment, she was indeed quite disheveled.
Because the office floor was often walked on, people's feet carried pond water, causing the dust to mix with moisture. After falling, her school skirt was now stained with dust, turning it a dark, grimy color.
Her once fair hands were now dirtier than charcoal, and the tailbone she had fallen on still ached.
Yukio wasn't wrong to call her disheveled. Sakayanagi admitted that she had never been in such a messy state before.
Especially considering that in this embarrassing state, it was Yukio who had seen her, and worse, she had been saved by him.
Most girls don't want boys to see them in an embarrassing situation; this is natural. In fact, it's common for anyone, regardless of gender, to avoid being seen by the opposite sex in a humiliating state.
Especially someone as proud as Sakayanagi. What made it even more embarrassing for her was that she had personally invited Yukio over, full of confidence, only for him to arrive just in time to witness her in such an awkward situation.
Who wouldn't feel embarrassed?
However, Sakayanagi wasn't just any girl. After a brief moment of discomfort, she quickly returned to her usual composure: "Well, I suppose I misspoke. It's more like the noble knight came at a critical moment to save the damsel in distress from the villain."
"Thank you very much."
Tricky, Yukio thought. He could hear the underlying meaning in Sakayanagi's words. The gratitude was genuine, but she was also emphasizing how "noble" Yukio was while reminding him that she was just a "weak girl."
The implication was that a person as noble as Yukio wouldn't continue to tease a girl who had been caught in such an awkward situation. On the surface, it seemed like Sakayanagi was backing down, but in reality, she was subtly advancing her position.
Understanding this, Yukio found it amusing. This girl, Sakayanagi—if you said she was weak, that wouldn't be true; her intellect was certainly at the top among first-year girls. But if you said she was strong, any random girl could probably knock her down with a single punch.
Deciding to drop the teasing, he walked over and nudged Fujii with his foot: "So, what's the deal? This is your project leader, the owner of the fish farm, right? Did he discover something dangerous and plan to silence you?"
"I had already suspected something was wrong after hearing part of your plan from Kamuro. You had your classmates spend the night at the fish farm, so you must have discovered something. Then Kamuro kept saying she hadn't seen this guy all day, which seemed suspicious, so I rushed over."
"Good thing I hurried. Otherwise, I might have had to clean up after you. That thing he was holding earlier was a taser, right?"
Sakayanagi nodded, confirming Yukio's guess, and pointed to the account book on the desk. She intended to reveal the truth once again—after all, that was the reason she had invited Yukio over in the first place: "This Mr. Fujii is actually..."
"Sakayanagi-san!"
"Yukio!"
At that moment, Kamuro and Horikita finally snapped out of their shock from witnessing Yukio violently kick Fujii, and they both rushed into the room. Kamuro was concerned for Sakayanagi, while Horikita was worried that Yukio might have caused trouble.
Seeing Fujii lying on the ground, groaning in pain, Horikita was full of confusion. Kamuro, being more straightforward, immediately went to check on Sakayanagi's well-being.
Sakayanagi leaned gently against Kamuro: "Masumi, could you let me lean on you for a bit? My hands are dirty right now, so I can't use my cane."
Kamuro finally breathed a sigh of relief and took Sakayanagi's cane, allowing her to rest against her. Horikita also regained her composure and asked, "What exactly is going on here? Sakayanagi-san, Yukio-kun? What were you two trying to do?"
