"Father, should we find somewhere to rest first? Your injuries..." Tang San asked with concern.

Tang Hao shook his head, pushing through the pain. "No need. Let's keep going. I'm used to it after all these years. Right now, awakening your bloodline is most important. We still have quite a distance to the Star Dou Forest; at our current speed, it'll take at least ten days."

In the Divine Realm, as soon as the God of Destruction noticed the Sea God and the God of Asura interfering with the mortal world, he stormed over to the Sea God's residence.

"Sea God! Asura God! You two dare interfere in the mortal realm? Asura, aren't you the enforcer of the Divine Realm? You're breaking the very rules you're meant to uphold!" the God of Destruction accused with a scowl.

The God of Asura replied nonchalantly, "Destruction, don't throw baseless accusations. Both of our true forms remain in the Divine Realm. That divine power in the mortal world was left at our respective inheritance sites. It's mere coincidence that it converged at the Supreme Pontiff's Hall."

The Sea God offered a sheepish smile, "Destruction King, the Divine Realm allows deities to protect their chosen successors by using the divine power and faith left in the mortal world. Coincidentally, Tang San was chosen by both of us, and we're only here to discuss this matter."

"I noticed Tang San first," continued the Sea God. "I was planning to lead him to Sea God Island for his divine trials. But the Asura God acted first."

"Ridiculous!" snapped the Asura God. "Tang San was my chosen successor. Don't forget, my first trial requires inheriting the Killing God Domain."

"And conveniently, Tang Hao possesses it. I've had my eye on Tang San for a while."

The Sea God retorted, "But you already have Tang Chen as your successor. Why do you need Tang San? Where's Tang Chen?"

The Asura God replied coldly, "Tang Chen failed the eighth trial; he was parasitized by a beast in the Slaughter City."

"Besides, isn't it odd that members of the Tang family align so well with my divine inheritance? Tang Chen is Tang San's great-grandfather, and Tang Hao possesses the Killing God Domain. Most importantly, the Asura God's inheritance suits Tang San's Clear Sky Hammer better than your Sea God inheritance. If given the choice, he'd definitely choose mine."

The Sea God twitched. Did he really just dismiss my inheritance as inferior? Even though there was truth to the Asura God's words, it stung.

This whole conversation was a scripted charade to avoid raising suspicion with Destruction, a 'stickler' in the Divine Realm, as the two gods secretly plotted a dual-god inheritance plan.

However, they were unaware that Destruction and the Goddess of Life had long suspected their intentions. As the Divine Realm's kings, they could tell something was off about the Asura God's close relationship with the Sea God.

Destruction watched them play out their scene, quietly entertained. And with Su Ming's promising talent and Life's subtle persuasion, Destruction was already less rigid in his views. After all, he thought, the Divine Realm has become rather static; it wouldn't hurt to inject new life and fresh blood.

As the Sea God continued his scripted quarrel with the Asura God, he suddenly stopped, his gaze turning distant and incredulous.

Destruction and the Asura God, sensing something, looked in the same direction. The Goddess of Life had arrived.

The Sea God stammered, "Goddess of Life… you've granted an inheritance?"

He had just received word from his dissipated divine consciousness in the mortal world.

"What?!" The Asura God was equally stunned. Weren't the God of Destruction and the Goddess of Life inseparable? How could she bear to grant her position?

Unperturbed, Destruction remained expressionless. This was all part of their prior arrangement, although a bit sooner than expected.

The Asura God gaped at Destruction, "Are you really not surprised?"

Destruction maintained his poker face. "Why should I be? Su Ming's talent is extraordinary, and his attributes align perfectly with Life's domain. I expected this."

"But—by Divine Realm law, deities who pass on their positions must leave the realm temporarily to wander. Aren't you even a bit reluctant to let Life go?"

Destruction replied coolly, "It's not as if we won't see each other again."

The Goddess of Life smiled inwardly. She hadn't expected Destruction to be so unfazed, lying with a perfectly straight face. She almost wanted to laugh.

The Sea God's brow furrowed. "But, Goddess of Life, you didn't establish a place of inheritance in the mortal world. Given Su Ming's current level, he won't reach the Divine Realm to take his trials anytime soon. Are you expecting him to reach level 99 on his own?"

Before he could finish, the Goddess of Life interrupted him, "No, that wouldn't be fair to Su Ming. He'd miss out on valuable trial rewards. I've decided he can head to your Sea God Island when he reaches level 70."

The Sea God and Asura God: "What?!"

The Sea God blinked in disbelief, asking for clarification, "Goddess of Life, are you saying you want to use my Sea God Island as the trial grounds for Su Ming's inheritance? But…"

The Goddess of Life smiled. "Is that a problem?"
