Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Restorating Kurogiri
[Third Person's PoV]
The weekend soon arrived, and Tony and Melissa were seen getting ready. Melissa was holding a briefcase while Tony simply wore his glasses.
Melissa looked at Tony with a straight expression and asked, "Why am I the one carrying this? Shouldn't it be you? They specifically asked for you anyway."
"Because you're my assistant, obviously. You need to stay busy before you get too comfortable lazing around," Tony scoffed.
"LAZING AROUND?!" Melissa screeched. "I've been running the goddamn company because you're too lazy to do it yourself!"
"Just do what I do," Tony shrugged. "For some reason, when I leave things be at the company, they always manage to solve themselves."
"SOLVE THEMSELVES? I'M THE ONE SOLVING THEM! THEY COME TO ME FIRST, AND I FIX IT SO IT DOESN'T REACH YOU!" Melissa shouted in exasperation, glaring at Tony with eyes that could kill.
"If what's in here wasn't so important, I would have smacked you with it," Melissa huffed.
Tony chuckled and gave her a quick peck on the lips. "Come on, babe. You know I was only joking. You don't think I don't know how hard you work? Or that I don't appreciate it?"
Melissa pouted slightly. "As long as you understand."
Tony chuckled as they made their way out and into the waiting car. As they drove, Tony used his ring to conjure small constructs of computers.
"I see you're still working on it. I thought you were done by now," Melissa said.
"Nah. If we're going to be exploring the Quantum Realm, I need to make sure everything is running smoothly before we do anything drastic."
"But I thought you said the Quantum Realm was too dangerous and unpredictable?"
"And it is. But we weren't ready before. I wanted to at least unlock the secrets of gravity before delving into something as dangerous as the Quantum Realm. For example, since I started working on gravity this week, I've spent weeks in the virtual world designing this," Tony said, showing a construct of a high-tech engine.
"I call this bad boy a Phantom Drive. Using the power of both light and gravity, I've designed an engine that allows us to travel at light speed through space. Gravity folds the space in front of us, and light propels us through the folded space," Tony summarized. "It's more complicated and advanced than that, but that's the simplified version. I wanted to create something like this before going into the Quantum Realm, so if we encountered danger, we could make a quick escape."
Tony looked at Melissa's surprised expression and smirked. "I know, I know. I'm a genius, and you're in awe of my brilliance. Can't say I blame you," Tony said, rubbing his nails on his chest and blowing on them smugly.
"Normally, I'd just roll my eyes at your narcissistic comments, but I have to admit—when you're brilliant, there's no denying it."
Tony kept his smug expression as he continued to work while they made their way to their destination.

When they arrived, Tony waved his hand, dissipating the constructs. "Friday, remember the changes and configurations made to the Phantom Drive."
His ring beeped in confirmation as he and Melissa stepped out in front of Tartarus, a prison located far from civilization, where extremely dangerous villains were imprisoned and interrogated under the highest security standards.
Standing in front of Tartarus were Principal Nezu, Present Mic, Eraser Head, and, to their surprise, All Might.
"If the rest of the students were here, this would make a great school field trip," Tony said with a nod as he greeted everyone.
"Tony, I'm not bringing my students to a dangerous facility like this," Nezu said, shaking his head.
Aizawa nodded at Tony and Melissa, acknowledging their presence. "Thank you for coming, and I apologize for taking time out of your break."
"Pish posh," Tony said, waving him off. "As All Might always says, there's never a bad time to be a hero!"
"I don't remember saying that…" All Might muttered. "Did I say that?" He put a hand to his chin. "It does sound like something I'd say, though."
"So, shall we get started?" Tony asked, looking around at everyone.
"Follow us," Present Mic said, taking the lead.
Tony and Melissa passed through multiple layers of security and scanners before being allowed inside. Once cleared, they arrived at an elevator that took them down several floors, eventually leading them to a vast corridor lined with doors.
They stopped at one door, and upon entering, they found Kurogiri strapped to a chair, his arms and legs bound by cuffs designed by Tony.
"Did you already get permission to experiment on him?" Tony asked, raising an eyebrow.
Principal Nezu sighed. "I had to pull a lot of strings to make this happen. If we can cure him, that's one less supervillain to worry about."
Tony nodded in understanding and raised his fist toward Kurogiri. A flash of silver-blue light shot out from his ring, scanning Kurogiri up and down.
Kurogiri thrashed in his restraints. "If we want to cure him—restore what's left of Oboro—we need to isolate and stabilize the original consciousness buried deep within. The problem is that the warp quirk binding him to the Nomu framework is fused with his essence. Separating them could tear him apart."
Eraser Head's eyes narrowed. "What's your plan, Stark?"
Tony brought up a 3D holographic model of Kurogiri's structure, highlighting areas in red and blue. "The key is targeted neural stimulation and molecular recalibration. We need to reactivate dormant neural pathways and override the artificial programming to bring him back."
Tony motioned for Melissa to step forward. "Here's the tricky part: Kurogiri's consciousness is trapped deep within his mind. Someone will need to go inside and pull him out from whatever is trapping him."
"Are you serious?" Principal Nezu asked, shocked.
"Unfortunately, yes. But don't worry, I've got that covered," Tony said, motioning for Melissa to open the briefcase, revealing two metal helmets.
"I don't like where this is going," Principal Nezu said with a sigh.
"So, you can already guess the plan, right?" Tony smirked.
Nezu nodded. "You plan to connect someone's consciousness to Oboro's and pull him out of whatever's keeping him dormant. I assume this will be dangerous?"
Tony nodded. "Of course. If you're trapped by whatever's holding him, you'll remain stuck in his consciousness forever, and your body will be essentially brain dead."
"I'll go," Aizawa and Present Mic said at the same time, glancing at each other with narrowed eyes.
"Leave it to me!" All Might said with a determined expression. "I am the Hero, after all."
"NO!" they all declined at once.
"It would be better if it's someone he's close to and familiar with. The best chance lies with Aizawa or Mic," Tony said, looking at the two. "You two can decide who goes in."
Aizawa and Present Mic stared at each other in contemplation.
