Chapter 457: 457 Record of Ragnarok: Dolls Can Do Volund, God of Gods, Respect for Humanity and The Supreme God Knows Fear.
The sky shattered, the earth trembled, and the air became filled with divine power and overwhelming oppression. It was the power of the heavens crystallized into a weapon. The so-called thunderbolt of the god who crowned himself above all others, Zeus. Many of the gods hadn't even seen it, and some even thought he didn't possess it. Yet, there it was, embedded in the ground.
At first glance, it seemed like a spear, but if you looked closely, its body fluctuated between energy and something solid. Zeus' thunderbolt was literally a divine lightning bolt solidified, embodying the power of the heavens.
Zeus seemed more energized and in a better mood, to the point where he began to smile and hum again. He had left everyone in shock with his performance, and he didn't like being kicked around like some secondary character by an ordinary human.
Zeus grabbed the thunderbolt and lifted it, creating an expanding shockwave that spread through the ground and sky in all directions. He manipulated his thunderbolt with immense skill and, above all, speed. "Ohohoho, now I feel great~"
Zeus saw himself as the greatest entity in this world, an unimaginable being... just listening to his introduction was enough.
–He is the Father of the Cosmos, the one who plays with the power of Creation, the one who sends to the Void that which does not please him, God of Gods.–
Someone like him definitely wouldn't let Allen's underestimation slide and would want to fight. Zeus pointed his thunderbolt at Allen. "Alright, I accept your challenge. I'll fight you unofficially~"
The malice in his eyes could not be hidden; perhaps it was unconscious, but Zeus felt hostility toward Allen as if his very existence was unpleasant in his eyes.
"..." Allen blinked, not impressed or intimidated by the terrifying display of power. Which irritated Zeus.
Unlike the gods, who could only gasp while witnessing the power of the god they considered the King of Gods. On the human side, fear was awakened upon seeing something that a mere human was not capable of.
"As expected of Zeus-sama!"
"He's definitely a god among gods!"
"Zeus-sama, show that human his place!"
The gods cheered, completely forgetting that just a moment ago they were scared.
...
Beerus – What kind of degrading spectacle is this?
Whis – Well, the gods are pretty spoiled, aren't they?
Vados – It's embarrassing, but even Champa-sama is better educated than this Zeus.
Artemis – If I showed this to our father, he'd surely get angry...
Kratos – This guy is unpleasant in a different way than the Zeus I know. I feel like impaling him too.
...
"Ho ho, well, kid... now that I think about it, who are you?"
Allen mocked, "For someone who's supposed to be omnipotent and omniscient, you sure don't know much..."
Zeus ground his teeth. He was a supreme being among supreme beings, but his personality was childish and malicious—an arrogant sack of wrinkles who couldn't stop strutting like the strongest god.
"THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO SPEAK..."
"I am..."
Some gods and goddesses started to suspect Allen's identity. The more they looked at his face, the more it reminded them of someone.
"I'm just a human... that should be enough to make you kill me... right, old degenerate?"
Zeus' eyes glowed red, but he quickly controlled his emotions. Many people paled. The gods thought Zeus was a man with questionable character and habits, but no matter what they thought, they didn't dare to say it out loud.
"ALRIGHT, NAMLESS LITTLE BRAT, I'LL KILL YOU AND THERE WILL BE NO TRACE OF YOU LEFT!"
Before the battle began, Allen turned to look at Adam, who was still silently observing him, a little confused, as if seeing someone he didn't recognize, but at the same time, someone pleasant to meet.
"I'm sorry for stealing your opponent..." Allen said in a sincerely apologetic tone, after all, it was Adam who was supposed to face him.
Adam smiled slightly and walked up to Allen, patting him on the back. "You don't have to apologize, just make me feel like a proud father..."
"..." Allen stayed silent with widened eyes as he watched Adam walk off to the stands.
...
Yoruichi – Shall I show my respects to that almost naked man when I ask for your hand in marriage?
McDragon – Wait, is that really Adam, the father of humanity?
Rick – Burp It depends on the world, in this one, definitely.
Maria Hill – Another piece of news that's going to go viral...
Superman – Looks like this time... it's humans versus gods. Every world has its own problems... it makes me a little sad that Allen hasn't found a peaceful world yet... maybe the multiverse is full of places like this...
Batman – It doesn't matter; just like we've seen Superman in more than one world, there will be people who oppose these kinds of villains.
...
The viewers from many worlds, friends, and women of Allen stayed focused on the upcoming battle. This fight wasn't just for humanity's survival—it was to defend their pride and what they are, not mere toys that can be created and thrown away when they are no longer useful or interesting.
Zeus should have acted more comically and like a clown, as he did when fighting Adam, but this time he didn't. His attitude became serious and focused.
"Aren't you going to call your Valkyrie?"
For a human to face a god, a Valkyrie needs to be transformed into a weapon through "Volund." Brunhilde stepped forward, leaving Göll with her mouth open. Was her sister going to perform Volund?!
Artoria – Allen, let me be your sword...
Esdeath – Is that possible? In that case, I'll do it.
Albedo – No! I'll definitely do it!
Nokotan – Everyone knows that only the deer goddess would be the most powerful weapon!
2B – Master... at your service.
Rebecca – Oh! This is interesting! I'm in!
Harley – Hahaha, I'm sure I'd make a very cute bat! Hahahaha!!
Makima – This could be very interesting. We're already connected on a much higher level than a Valkyrie and her fighter; it's definitely possible. Heh, I'm interested in seeing what the demon of control becomes...
Wednesday – Choose wisely, most likely, our abilities will transfer to the weapon we become, and maybe we'll acquire new ones.
Allen was stunned. He hadn't thought about that, but seeing the valkyries and their method, it really wasn't complicated. But using the dolls as weapons?
...
Allen waved his hand, and Brunhilde understood that for now, it wasn't necessary. The girls also showed dissatisfaction, but Allen had a goal to initiate the fight without a weapon.
"I'm not one of the thirteen fighters..."
"Wh-?!"
Not only Zeus, but everyone was speechless. What did he mean by not being one of the thirteen? Who the hell was he, and why did he dare to face Zeus?
Allen narrowed his eyes. "My offer still stands. You can call your children to help you..."
"BRAT!" Zeus could no longer tolerate being humiliated so many times.
In a thousandth of a second, Zeus appeared before Allen to attack him with his lightning bolt. It was expected that he would be fast, so the gods weren't surprised. However, it seemed Zeus wasn't joking; he went straight for the kill from the very beginning.
Zeus accelerated once more. With every strike, he grew faster and faster. Each punch carried the divine power of the Father of the Cosmos. A human would disintegrate instantly; even a god would perish if struck by Zeus's lightning bolt. That's why he had refrained from using it against Adam; it would have ended the fight too quickly.
Adam was capable of copying all the gods' techniques because he was created in the image of God. However, Zeus's lightning bolt wasn't a technique, raising the question of whether Adam would have even stood a chance had Zeus used it.
An instant… Allen raised his gaze as he saw the tip of the lightning bolt aiming for his heart. In response, he extended his hand, and what happened next left everyone unable to react.
Odin rose from his seat; Shiva widened his eyes, and Buddha remained silent. Brunhilde smiled, and Göll collapsed to her knees, relieved.
"Huh?" Zeus even lost his composure.
"What's wrong, old man?" Allen held Zeus's lightning bolt in his bare hand. With one swift motion, while Zeus was stunned, Allen took it and threw it outside the arena.
He followed with a quick sidestep and struck Zeus in the stomach with a powerful blow.
"Urgh!"
Zeus, who normally enjoyed taking punches, now only wanted to lie down. He staggered back, clutching his abdomen, which had been caved in by the blow, and spat blood. But suddenly, his expression of pain shifted to one of twisted pleasure. "Not a bad punch❤️~"
The spectators in the arena felt disgusted by Zeus, including those watching in the Chat.
...
Rias – What's wrong with that disgusting old man?
Nanao – He's giving me chills...
Rangiku – Poor Allen-kun has to face such a revolting opponent… I'll let him rest on my lap when he visits me~
Unohana – Ufufu, you're so kind, Matsumoto-chan.
Rangiku – I'm sorry! I didn't mean to overstep, Yachiru-san!
Thor – No, I refuse to accept someone like that as Zeus!
Hestia – That's right! That pervert can't be my brother…
Kratos – Zeus...
---
Zeus didn't retrieve his lightning bolt immediately. Instead, he attacked Allen with his fists.
The fight resumed.
0.00001
Allen continued to dodge with minimal movements, so smooth it seemed as if he could see Zeus's attacks before they happened.
0.0000001
Allen countered with a strike to Zeus's jaw, dislocating it. Zeus quickly adjusted it back into place and smiled.
"TAKE THIS! METEOR PUNCHES!"
0.000000001
Boom!
Allen sighed…
Zeus suddenly stopped—no, his fists were being held by Allen. Zeus's eyes widened, and a chill ran down his spine as he saw Allen's eyes.
"Even if we step back a thousand steps and give you the benefit of the doubt that gods created humanity, every decision, every experience, every thought, every idea, every creation belongs to humanity from that moment on."
Allen kicked Zeus in the stomach, causing him to scream from the depths of his being.
"AAAAHHHHHHHHHGGGGGG!"
The force behind that kick wasn't even Allen's full strength, but it was enough to split the earth in half.
"I can't stand the irresponsibility and audacity. You created humanity, and now you complain about how they act within their potential?"
Allen grabbed Zeus by the face, squeezing with enough force to compress a star.
"AAAAHHHHHH!"
"Isn't it a bit childish? Every human is different. Sure, there are terrible people, but there are also those who've lived like saints. Are you really lumping everyone together?" Allen mocked. "No, it's just laziness. It's easier to say 'humanity' than to call each person by their name. Maybe you don't even care."
Allen threw Zeus, who rolled across the ground before stopping with his head crushed.
Heimdall trembled as he gripped his microphone. "Absurdly, the omnipotent and–"
Allen interrupted Heimdall with a single look, silencing him. Allen had encountered all kinds of monsters and terrifying beings, yet none dared to call themselves omnipotent, omniscient, or omnipresent. How could Zeus be so arrogant as to do so in Allen's presence? Even Allen himself wouldn't claim such titles.
Zeus wasn't dead. His body moved as though it were made of clay, and his head returned to its original shape.
"Damn it! This is absurd! A human can't be this strong!"
That thought was shared by everyone. Yet it was a reality—Allen had been more powerful than Zeus the entire time.
"UNFORGIVABLE!"
Zeus clenched his fist, which grew massively.
"PREPARE TO RECEIVE THE PUNCH OF A GOD!"
Zeus was known for many legends: defeating Titans, having countless children with goddesses and humans, and being a pervert… but perhaps the most famous was how he became the god of the skies—by killing his father, Cronus.
In this world, however, things had happened differently from the mythology people knew. During the Titanomachy, which was like a tournament of elimination, Zeus fought his father, the god of time. Cronus landed a punch so fast and powerful that it shattered Zeus's jaw before he could react.
Now, Zeus grinned as his divine power controlled all of time itself. This punch transcended time.
0.000000000000000000000000...
Zeus moved, the only one able to act in this suspended moment. His grin widened as he rushed toward Allen. But in that final moment, Allen looked at him with cold eyes.
He had been speaking, but Zeus hadn't paid attention to any of his words. After all, the words of an insignificant man wouldn't reach the ears of the Father of the Gods.
Allen felt disappointed, as though he had wasted his time.
So, he moved even faster than Zeus. "What's wrong? Do you think you're the only one who can move faster than time?"
Zeus felt the chill from before turn into fear, and soon into terror, but Allen's fist didn't stop. It struck Zeus's chest, piercing through his body and spilling blood across the arena.
Time resumed its flow, and the crowd watched in horror as the King of the Gods lay on the ground with a massive hole in his chest.
Allen looked at Zeus with calm eyes. "In the end, both gods and humans bleed... I see no reason for such disdain toward us, Zeus... "
"..."
"I see you can't listen to me anymore..."
