Isn't this just cheating?

The next day Alex was in the room he had been given, and had just finished reading the [linked paths scripture]. It wasen't really a cultivation method of its own, more so an augmentation. By practising it the user could 'link' their two existing cultivation methods, being body cultivation and immortality cultivation, alwoing them to use both at once. Meaning they could 'do twice as much with half the effort'.

That was bulshit, the entire thing was wrong. It was built like that '67 in 1 shampoo, conditioner, body wash, yada yada yada' horribly inefficient, more harm then good, and just a desperate attempt to appear impressive. I mean sure it could conect both your cultivation methods, but if they wern't already basically the same thing, your chances for qi deviation would go up exponentially.

You would never be able to change out your methods, so that would be your power cap. And if a technique had so much as a hint of a unique effect, it would be removed to 'enhance harmony between the two' which was bullshit. 'Sigh, I'm going to have to rebuild this entire thing aren't I? Well, no time like the present,'

Starting off, the techniques core was to act like a bridge between the two techniques, so that when one was activated the other would follow along. Both would draw in qi, share it across the bridge, and cultivate. But I'm sure you could see the problem from just that, thay both used qi.

Body forging didn't use qi, it used internal qi, which was produced by the body, as aposed to the world around the user. So this ended up with your body forging method useing qi, and your cultivation method useing internal qi. Which was like drinking car fuel and putting water in your car, it fucked them both up.

Other then that the bridge was permanent, so if you wanted to swap out your cultivation method you would need to completely remove you cultivation, returning you to a mear mortal. With no benefit what so ever. Then their was the problem of needing one dominant method, which defeated the entire purpose of having a method to use both at once. And the list just went on, and on, and on.

'Alright, so, I am gonna need to use the core of the method, but also alter it so it works. How about instead of using the cultivation methods and anchors for the bridge, I use myself? That way I can swap out my cultivation methods freely and alwase have them linked. Alright, good start. But what about the qi problem? Make a converter half way on the bridge? That could work. Or fuse inner qi and outer qi? Maybe another time. And with myself as the bridge, there isn't a need for a dominant method, solving that problem. Alright, time to start.'

Over the next week Alex compleatly reworked the [linked paths scripture], to the point it was unrecognisable from its starting point. 'How's about I call it the [one road method]? Because both methods are 'on the same road'?'

Sitting down and focusing Alex started to pull some of his qi out of his meridians, before useing the vast mandala of connections between his meridians as the ankor points for his new bridge. First he layed out a strand of qi, extending from his heart to just above and behind his belly button,where his dantian would be. Then he began to pull on the connections to form more strands of qi, Each one being linked to the first strand. The useing those connections he began to expand the first strand, forming a rope. He then repeated this prosess to form a second rope.

Between these two ropes he formed a 'plank' of qi. Then another, and another, untill he had a rope bridge connecting the two points. He then began to strengthen the ropes into something like metal cables, and then even further into heavenly threads. He then used the planks of qi as the foundations to form a sturdier path, first connecting the planks to form one long path of qi, then strengthening the path into something like divine metal.

Finnaly he formed a arch over the bridge, useing his meridians as focal points to stabilise it before growing it into more divine metal, with more heavenly threads acting as suspension cables connecting to the bridge.

With the full bridge now built, Alex began to form a structure in the middle of the bridge looking like a secondary large arch connecting one edge to the other. Runes forming along the frame of the secondary arch. One this was done a flow of qi being to flow down from his meridians to the dantian end of the bridge, flowing along it to the secondary arch, being converted to inner qi and flowing to his heart. Similarly inner qi flowed down from his heart to the arch and became qi and flowing into his meridians.
