Chapter 118: Chapter 118: The Goddess's Expressive Face

"Let's go get some equipment first. We can't just charge at the Demon King like this," Han Yu suggested.

"Ah, right! You're absolutely correct. There's a small town not far from here; let's head there," Ristarte replied enthusiastically.

At the mention of finally getting down to business, Ristarte seemed genuinely excited, completely forgetting about Han Yu's earlier over-the-top display.

Seeing her reaction, Han Yu could tell that Ristarte was definitely not an experienced guide. Judging by her demeanor, she must have been a newly appointed goddess—unlucky enough to be assigned to an S-rank difficulty world right off the bat.

Just as the two prepared to set off, an overwhelming pressure suddenly surged from behind them. Even Ristarte, a goddess, found herself unable to move.

"My, my… It seems the Demon King was right after all. Every hero likes to start their leveling grind in places like this. His wisdom truly knows no bounds."

A teasing voice came from behind them. Han Yu and Ristarte turned around to see a scantily clad female demon standing there. She had small horns protruding from her head, and her body radiated a faint crimson aura. It was clear she wasn't on the same level as those goblins from earlier.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Kaos Machina, one of the Four Heavenly Generals under the Demon King."

The demon woman, holding a massive greatsword taller than herself, licked her lips with a crimson tongue. Her eyes glinted with a chilling bloodlust.

"How… how is this possible? Why would someone of this level appear here?"

Ristarte had never experienced such oppressive pressure before. Her breathing became irregular as she activated Ability Insight. Upon seeing Kaos's stats, her face froze in shock.

Kaos was level 66, with attack, defense, and speed stats nearing the four-digit mark. A hero who had just arrived in this world could never hope to defeat an enemy of this caliber.

Ristarte had specifically chosen the safest starting area, yet they still encountered such a powerful opponent. So this is what an S-rank difficulty world is like…

Right now, Han Yu didn't even have equipment. How could he possibly win against an enemy like this?

"Han Yu, stay calm. Don't panic. We're not her match right now. We need to find an opportunity to run…"

Ristarte whispered urgently to Han Yu, but there was no response. Assuming he was paralyzed with fear, she turned to look at him—only to discover he was already gone.

"He… he actually ran away?!"

Ristarte stood there in shock, staring at Han Yu, who was now a tiny speck in the distance. Is this… is this something a normal person would do?!

Without hesitation, Ristarte bolted after him, her speed almost superhuman as she quickly caught up.

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't leave your goddess behind!"

Tears streamed down Ristarte's face as she sprinted, but her exaggerated expression made her look less like a goddess and more like a villain. Honestly, she looked like a zombie antagonist straight out of a horror movie.

"Who's the real villain here…?"

Han Yu glanced back at Ristarte and couldn't help but shiver. This is supposed to be a goddess? Is this your true form?!

The way Ristarte looked while running—her eyes bulging, mouth wide open, and her face twisted in panic—was an exact replica of a zombie from one of those apocalyptic horror films. She wouldn't even need makeup to play the part.

"Honestly, I could beat her… but according to the system, if I deal with her too easily, I won't be considered 'cautious' enough."

While sprinting at top speed, Han Yu calmly analyzed the situation. He summoned an invisible status screen visible only to himself as he continued running.

Name: Han Yu

Level: 5

HP: 5000

MP: 3000

Attack: 3200, Defense: 4200, Speed: 3000, Magic: 3000, Growth Value: 1852

Special Skills: Flame Magic (Lv. MAX), Experience Gain Speed (Lv. 4), Ability Perception (Lv. 5)

...

If Lissadite were to see this, she might be stunned for thousands of years. This data is no longer something a level 5 hero should possess. If she saw it, she might even suspect that Han Yu was a demon lord in disguise, coming to toy with her.

"Such high stats must be the result of the system adjusting based on my Immortal Divine Seal and current level. If I reach the max level, these stats should exceed a million. At that point, I'd be an existence capable of crushing the demon lord. This must be the first choice the system gave me earlier. If I had chosen to complete the mission easily, I'd probably be starting with stats over a million. Crushing a demon lord would be a piece of cake."

Han Yu glanced at Lissadite, who was increasingly "zombified" behind him, and said, "Aren't you a goddess? You shouldn't die in this world, right? Why are you so scared? Quickly block for me, then open the portal."

"Ah, right. Why should I be afraid?"

Lissadite stretched out her hand and summoned a portal back to the Divine Realm. Just as she was about to stop and turn around to block Chaos, the latter was already dangerously close.

His bloodthirsty, murderous appearance made it seem as though he was looking at a helpless lamb when he glanced at the goddess. Terrified, Lissadite sprinted away again, her expression becoming even more "zombified."

"Wait! Wait for me!"

Han Yu glanced back quickly and was startled. It wasn't the bloodthirsty Chaos that shocked him, but Lissadite's terrifying appearance as a goddess at that moment.

It was too creepy!

"Where do you think you're running?"

Before he even arrived, the murderous aura was already overwhelming. Chaos swung his giant sword and charged toward them, radiating deadly intent.

"Open it now!"

Han Yu shouted softly. Advanced fire magic and low-level water magic were released simultaneously, with the fire evaporating the water and creating a thick mist that briefly obstructed Chaos's sight.

Lissadite, terrified, quickly opened the portal and followed Han Yu through.

Chaos swiped away the mist and looked at the spot where Han Yu and Lissadite had vanished. Licking his lips, he smirked cruelly. "Heh heh, running already? That was a quick decision. But I have ways to bring you back."

He then turned his gaze to the distance, where a small town could be seen—the place Han Yu and Lissadite had originally planned to go.

With his giant sword over his shoulder and humming an unfamiliar tune, Chaos walked toward the town.

...

Meanwhile, back in the Divine Realm, Lissadite was panting heavily and said, "As expected of an S-class world, Gaia Brand. The demon lord is as cautious as you—it's infuriating. We almost died back there."

"Now that we're safe, let's get out of here. I need to keep training."

Han Yu removed his shirt and resumed his previous workout, but this time, he pushed himself even harder, performing with greater intensity than before.

Previously, he had done eighty perfect and standard reps per minute—something no normal person could sustain. Now, he had increased it to a terrifying one hundred and twenty reps per minute!
