Naruto: Uchiha Rejects Konoha

Chapter 87: 87. I Am Uchiha

"After so many years, has this mysterious enemy who launched the Nine Tails Rebellion finally appeared again?"

Shikaku said with a grave expression, signalling Hiashi to send a higher-level warning. Konoha must not be careless in the slightest against this enemy who incited the Nine Tails Rebellion years ago.

In the Uchiha clan, Yagami and Fugaku, who were arranging the batch transfer of their clansmen, also noticed the warning signs and thought Konoha had discovered the family's actions. Both of them felt nervous for a moment before relaxing.

"Who from which village would invade Konoha at this time?"

Fugaku touched his chin. After the recent high-level meeting, the ninja clans of Konoha knew that Konoha would soon be targeted by other villages.

You would think that if a weapon like Wood Style was developed, other villages wouldn't remain at ease.

"Probably not. If it were an invasion from another village, the disturbance would not be so subtle, and the news wouldn't travel this fast. It seems Konoha is being troubled by something else."

Yagami said with a hint of satisfaction; the more trouble that came to Konoha now, the better it would be for the Uchiha.

"Clan leader! Major news—the one who invaded Konoha seems to be the masked man who launched the Nine Tails Rebellion!"

Uchiha Osamu ran in with an exaggerated expression, disregarding etiquette, and shouted from a distance.

Fugaku and Yagami exchanged glances. Their long-standing cooperation meant they immediately understood each other's intentions, and then Yagami disappeared.

The usual method is for Fugaku to oversee matters at home while Yagami takes charge outside.

"Osamu, notify the Jōnin in the clan to surround the masked man as much as possible. If he tries to escape, do everything you can to stop him!"

Fugaku took a deep breath. Whoever he was, the Uchiha wouldn't let him go easily.

Even though he knew an ordinary Uchiha Jōnin might not be able to harm him, he couldn't just ignore it.

On the other side, the Third Hokage watched as Obito performed the Wood Style Cutting Technique, his expression filled with astonishment.

He had thought that besides Tenzo and Danzo, no one else would know Wood Style, but now, here it was.

The culprit behind the Nine-Tails Rebellion could also use Wood Style, which made him suspect that Danzo's knowledge of Wood Style might stem from the same source, so…

Was Danzo involved in the Nine Tails Rebellion?

How much had this old man kept hidden from him?

With Kamui and Wood Style, Obito seemed to move freely even under the siege of numerous Konoha shinobi. No one's attacks could reach him, and any hit from the Cutting Technique resulted in a deadly trap.

After all, once a piece of wood lodged in the body, countless wooden splinters would burst from within, turning the target into a veritable hedgehog. Survival was unlikely.

"Lightning Style: Chidori!"

"Earth Style: Yellow Springs Marsh!"

Seeing Kakashi unlock the seal on his Sharingan and charge with the swift Chidori, Jiraiya immediately cooperated, using Earth-style Ninjutsu to restrict Obito's movements.

Both had rich combat experience, allowing them to discern certain characteristics of Obito's Kamui technique, having fought against him for so long.

When their eyes met, a straightforward tactic was formed.

The opponent's ability to ignore physical attacks wasn't constant; otherwise, he wouldn't need to parry their blows. So, except when he launched an attack, there must be a brief moment when he couldn't maintain the intangibility.

Using Chidori's speed to exploit this gap was undoubtedly the best choice.

"Chidori? Rin..."

Seeing the familiar technique, Obito felt a surge of emotion, but his instincts didn't waver. Kakashi phased through him as Obito elbowed him in the back, sending him flying.

A swirling time-space distortion appeared as Obito escaped from the Yellow Springs Marsh, looking indifferently at the Third Hokage and the shinobi behind him.

"Konoha now... is truly weak and pitiful!"

One sentence made the Third Hokage's heartache, but he couldn't refute it. Besides himself, only Jiraiya was present with Kage-level strength.

Although Kakashi was strong, he wasn't at Kage's level. Judging from the power Obito had shown, even a Kage-level shinobi might not stand a chance.

"Mangekyō Sharingan?"

The Third Hokage pondered. The Uchiha clan now possessed three pairs of Mangekyō. Shisui's ability, Kotoamatsukami, could be ruled out. Itachi's eyes awakened after Danzo blinded Shisui, also ruling him out.

As for Yagami, it was impossible. Including Itachi and Shisui, they were all still children during the Nine-Tails Rebellion.

Fugaku was a possibility, but he had never revealed his Mangekyō Sharingan. Besides, he was under Anbu's watch at the time, making it impossible for him to control the Nine Tails.

So, did the Uchiha within the village truly have nothing to do with the Nine Tails Rebellion?

Perhaps Danzo's obsession with the Sharingan wasn't only to suppress Wood Style but was also influenced by the man in front of him.

Danzo, possessing a similar setup, seemed to belong to the same type as this individual. If Danzo were here, he would likely argue heatedly with the Third Hokage...

"Who the hell are you?"

The Third Hokage demanded, a question that had plagued him for years.

"Uchiha... Madara!"

Obito's voice was soft, but it caused the entire Konoha camp to freeze. Even the Third Hokage's eyes widened slightly.

"Uchiha... Madara!"

The Third Hokage repeated the name, unable to calm his mind. Anyone would feel immense pressure facing the legendary figure who once rivaled the First Hokage, the man known as the Ninja World's Demon.

With Konoha's current state, facing someone like Uchiha Madara was hopeless. Even with Jiraiya and Tsunade, the outcome would likely be disastrous.

For a moment, a sense of despair filled the Konoha camp. If even an Uchiha like Yagami, with Mangekyō, could make all of Konoha hesitant, facing a legend like Uchiha Madara was unthinkable.

At the peak of Uchiha's combat power, everyone remembered a figure whose strength surpassed even Mingfeng's.

"If you were really Madara, would you have exploited Kushina's pregnancy to launch the Nine Tails Rebellion? Don't flatter yourself. Someone like you, who doesn't even show his true face, shouldn't pretend to be a Uchiha!"

Seeing Obito relish in Konoha's despair, Mingfeng grew furious. Although he enjoyed Konoha's distress, he despised Obito even more.

Regardless of whether he was deceived by Madara, manipulated by Black Zetsu, or blinded by his attachment to Rin, Obito's betrayal—attacking his own sensei's wife, Kushina, the moment he gained power—was unforgivable.

While Minato might not voice it, the resentment was evident. Obito blamed him for not saving Rin and Kakashi in time; that was one thing. But for Kushina, who had shown him such kindness, to be repaid with hatred was beyond contempt.

Thus, Yagami couldn't stand Obito in the slightest.
