Uchiha Shisui was pumped—finally, some opponents worth his time.

Kakashi and Guy, on the other hand, were dumbfounded. "You've got to be kidding. Sure, we've heard Shisui's strong, but no way can he handle this many enemies alone, right?"

Uchiha Kitaro noticed their concern and flashed a confident smile. "Relax, you two. Shisui's no pushover. It's time for you to see the kind of special power we've acquired."

Just then—WHOOSH!

A massive barrier appeared, trapping Kitaro and his group inside.

"Hah! Uchiha Kitaro, we know you use the Flying Thunder God technique, but this barrier blocks all your teleportation markers. You're not going anywhere now," sneered the leader of the Root operatives.

Kitaro tested the barrier and, sure enough, his markers were out of reach. Still, he didn't seem worried. "Tch, you really came prepared, didn't you?"

"Attack!!"

Root operatives never wasted time on talk. They sprang into action immediately, not giving their enemies a moment to breathe.

CRACKLE!

In a flash, Shisui's body transformed into lightning and zipped straight into the midst of the Root operatives.

"What the—?!"

"His body turned into lightning!"

Shisui extended his fingers, pointing at the ninjas on either side.

"30 Million Volt Discharge!!!"

ZAP ZAP!

Two massive bolts of lightning struck down among the enemies.

"ARGHHHH!!!"

"GYAHHHHH!!!"

The Root ninjas screamed in agony as their bodies were charred and they collapsed to the ground.

Even though they were stunned, the remaining Root operatives quickly regrouped. These were elite ninjas, after all.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH—!

A volley of kunai flew at Shisui, each one wrapped with explosive tags.

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!

A series of deafening explosions lit up the battlefield.

"Damn it!" Kakashi and Guy's faces darkened. They knew Shisui well—he was family to Kitaro, so they had grown close to him too.

"Is he down?!"

"Thunder Bird!!!"

From within the smoke, Shisui's voice rang out.

ZAP!

A bird made of pure lightning shot out from the cloud of smoke.

"ARGHHHH!!!"

Anyone it touched was left fried and screaming, forcing the others to retreat in panic.

"Thunder Beast!!!"

Shisui formed hand seals, and a giant wolf made of lightning charged at the ninjas with blinding speed.

"Earth Style: Mud Wall!"

Learning from their earlier failure, the Root ninjas quickly erected walls of earth in the wolf's path.

BOOM BOOM BOOM!

The lightning beast shattered every wall in its way.

"GYAHHH!!!"

"Thunder Dragon!!!"

Lightning surged around Shisui, forming a massive dragon that barreled into the Root ninjas.

"Divine Punishment!!!"

Shisui raised his hand, summoning a colossal pillar of lightning from the sky.

The battlefield was chaos. The sheer destructive power left everyone—except Kitaro and Itachi—utterly speechless.

"Kitaro, that's… not ninjutsu, is it?" Kakashi asked, still stunned. Lightning-based chakra techniques usually required long charge times, like his Chidori.

But Shisui's abilities? He didn't even need hand seals. It was as if he was the lightning.

"Nope," Kitaro replied casually. "That's not ninjutsu—it's the power of a Devil Fruit. These are special fruits that grant unique powers when eaten. Shisui ate the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, a Logia-type Devil Fruit."

Kakashi and Guy's jaws dropped. "You're telling us… he got all that just from eating a fruit? That's insane!"

Kitaro chuckled. "Not really. You know our chakra originally came from the God Tree's Chakra Fruit. Passed down through generations—that's how we ninjas got our powers. Devil Fruits are similar, though their abilities don't get passed down, and their traits are more specific."

"But… this is on a whole other level!" Guy exclaimed. "The guy's like a literal Thunder God! And man, it's cool as hell."

"Focus!" one of the Root operatives barked. "Our target is Uchiha Kitaro. Take him down!"

A group of ninjas rushed toward Kitaro.

Kakashi and Guy stepped forward to help, but Kitaro stopped them with a smirk. "Tch, Danzo's still as arrogant as ever. Does he really think these small fries can handle me?"

"Guess I've been out of the spotlight for a year and a half. Looks like the ninja world forgot what I'm capable of."

Kitaro clenched his fist.

BUZZZZZ!

A white, transparent sphere of energy wrapped around his hand—the power of the Quake-Quake Fruit.

He punched forward.

CRACK CRACK—BOOM!

The air itself shattered like glass. A massive shockwave swept through, sending countless ninjas flying and cracking the ground beneath them.

"What the hell is that?!" Kakashi, Guy, and the Root operatives were frozen in terror.

"That's the Quake-Quake Fruit," Itachi calmly explained. "The strongest Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. It can create earthquakes with ease."

Kakashi and Guy felt chills. "Earthquakes? That's terrifying! Shisui's lightning is bad enough, but this?!"

"And you?" Kakashi asked Itachi. "Did you eat a Devil Fruit too?"

Itachi shook his head. "Kitaro-nii told me to wait. He's saving one for me that'll suit me perfectly."

Kakashi and Guy exchanged uneasy glances. Just where had Kitaro been for the past year and a half to acquire such monstrous power?
