Chapter 3: The Dungeon
As expected, Elior, his aunt, and his other subordinates accepted not long after. All that remained were the nine guests. He could understand their train of thought—they were probably considering the fact that he went out of his way to recruit them, meaning their value must be great.
Jayde smiled. During the first phase, every creature's talent should be at the F class. It isn't until the second phase that they would be given the chance to advance their talents. Gazing at them, Jayde decided to inspect their talents since his mental state was at the third circle.

After inspecting their talents, Jayde nodded to himself. It was exactly like the past, especially the Sin siblings. Last time, he was the one to kill them both, as the government designated them as high-class threats.
Looking at how indecisive they were, he decided to give them a slight nudge. "I can see how hesitant you all are, so let's do things this way." He reached into his pocket, bringing out a glowing blue crystal. Immediately, the crystal came into view, and the very atmosphere shifted as a slight chill manifested itself in the air.
"This is an ether crystal. Right now, you may not be aware, but the world outside is in chaos. Both monsters and humans have been endowed with talents. Different organizations and governments around the world will use this first phase of the sequence to establish their dominance. Millions will die. Resources like ether crystals and dungeons will be at the fetus stage until the second phase," he paused, letting his words sink in, then continued.
"But through my means, I can force these resources into maturity. With this, we will be miles ahead of others." He then turned towards Elior. "Me and the nine visitors will be going for a quick trip. You will be in charge in my absence," to which Elior quickly responded, "As you wish, lord."
Turning back to the nine, Jayde stated, "I will be needing an answer when we are back." The nine were confused, wondering where they were going, but Jayde just responded with a smile. He clenched his fists, shattering the ether crystal. Immediately after, faint runic lines began to shimmer into existence all over the building. The very floor began to pulse with veins of blue. What followed was a bright flash, forcing everyone to close their eyes in response.
By the time they opened their eyes, everything was normal—except for the big swirling mass of energy present in the room. It warped the very atmosphere as space seemed to twist and fold at its presence. Everyone in the room received the same information.
**[Dungeon (FFF+)]**
**[Inheritance Ground: Deepen your understanding of your talent, forge more connections with your ancestors, and deepen your bond with your lineage. But be careful; you might just get lost within.]**
**[Entry Limit: 10/10]**
That's when everyone noticed Jayde and the nine visitors were nowhere to be found. Elior immediately went to the podium. "For now, until the lord comes back, we are all under orders from him to familiarize ourselves with our talents. If nothing goes wrong, he should be back soon." After leaving this speech, he dismissed the crowd and showed Jayde's aunt to her room.

Within the dungeon, the ten individuals were separated upon entry, leaving them in different regions as they lay in front of their respective temples.
Looking at the majestic, dark temple before him, Jayde couldn't help but feel anticipation. Back then, he was never given a chance to enter nurturing dungeons. All he had access to were combat dungeons, and even then, he was given low-level dungeons. He never had the chance to reach triple digits. The only reason he became so strong in the past was because of the lineage inheritance bestowed upon him by the sequence.
That was why he decided to choose the best of the best nurturing dungeon. With this, he could increase his talent to triple digits, as well as the purity of his lineage. He brought the other nine for the same reasons. They were also firmly suppressed by various powers back then. Most of them died before they could bloom, but some of them still shone like him despite their tragic fates.
Steeling himself, he stepped into the temple, ready to face whatever mysteries lay within. Then he got the notification.
[Temple of Darkness (Divine)]
[This temple still holds the power of the Darkness God at his very prime. It holds the true meaning of darkness. Progress within and acquire the true knowledge of darkness, gain the approval of the Darkness God, and become one with darkness.]
Reading the description, Jayde smiled. Finally, he had the chance to comprehend his affinity. Everything he learned back in the future was self-taught. He was never given any guidance of any kind. But now, with this opportunity, his progress in this timeline would go a lot more smoothly and faster.
Upon entry, all he saw was darkness. He couldn't feel anything; he couldn't see anything. All he felt was a question which was projected into his mind by the temple: 'What is darkness?'
Brooding on the question, Jayde had a feeling that the answer wasn't simply the absence of light. He sighed. It seemed he wouldn't be clearing this dungeon as fast as he thought.

Right now, Earth was in chaos. Every creature on the planet had awakened talents. It was a mess, from monster stampedes to riots, from robbery to civil war. All manner of violence was being played out.
The thing about the sequence was that the first three phases were all just a preparation for the main event called the Sequence of Worlds. Unknown to everyone, the first phase wasn't only to bestow talents; it carried out another task.
At various locations on Earth, different ancient relics could be seen reacting. At the Great Pyramid of Giza, the gigantic structure pulsed with gray runes as different mechanisms within were being activated. It absorbed energy from the atmosphere, directing it to a chamber within, where beings were being awakened one by one.
The ancient Egyptians were being revived. Not just them, but different ancient sites saw the same occurrence. The Mesopotamians, the Indus Valley people, the ancient Aztecs—all manner of ancient civilizations were being awakened, with mankind none the wiser. In fact, even in the future, during the third phase, humanity was still unaware of their existence. Even Jayde himself was in the dark about this matter.
Not only ancient humans were being revived, but also ancient races that once dominated Earth—from the Draconians, the Anunnaki, the Giants, you name it—they were all being revived.
