Reverend Insanity :Savage Truth

Chapter 32: Chapter 32. Attack

Instantly, we were all teleported into the Slin clan's guest area. I felt drained of primeval sea essence. Looking at my aperture, I saw that over 80% of it was instantly used up. I knew that taking so many people this far would consume a lot. I only had so much confidence, as I also had my Beggar Moth Gu to help with the cost in case it required more.

As I was assessing that, Linghun was using her method on the clansmen who had come over. It appeared as a bubble enveloping their bodies. "What's going on here?" a guard asked, only to be greeted by a stream of water blasting him in the head and leaving nothing left of it.

Within 15 minutes, Linghun had covered most of the force with her defensive method. "Those who have their shields, go. For those who haven't, join as soon as you can. Ji, stay here and guard Linghun. The rest of you, join as soon as you can and come back here if you need to regain your shield," Fuile said, leaving with the other Rank 4 Gu Master and those who already had their shields.

I heard her instructions as I sat down, refilling my primeval sea essence as quickly as possible. Not long after, I heard loud sounds and yelling from outside the building we were in. But with Ji and my human self here, I felt safe enough to continue recovering my primeval sea essence.

I had recovered about 45%, but nearly an hour had passed, and I had a goal to achieve. So, I had to leave. Worst-case scenario, I could use my reserves in Beggar Moth Gu. Bringing out my Featherman self, I handed him his Gu, armed myself, and armed my Featherman. Then, I approached Linghun, who was also recovering her primeval sea essence.

"Got enough for me?" I asked, making her open her eyes. "Yeah, but are you ready?" she asked. "You can stay and recover, Shuidi; it'll be safer that way," Ji said. "No, I've got to go. And even if something dangerous happens, remember I can just teleport back to the clan."

My words eased them a bit, and Linghun let out a gray bubble that enveloped my body. With that, I left the building and saw that the once-resort-like clan was now in smoldering shambles. Countless buildings were destroyed, and bodies lay scattered everywhere.

Blood and water mixed, turning the soil muddy. Water was being shot out from all over, and using Thermal Vision Gu, I saw a group of people and ran toward them. It was a group of Slin clansmen who looked like they hadn't fought yet.

There were four of them in total—two men and two women—who immediately attacked me. They lifted their hands, and gray hands shot out toward me. I chose not to get hit, instead swapping places with my Featherman self, who was up in the air above me.

Appearing up in the air I fell aiming for the group of enemy's as my featherman self flew away dodging their attacks and holding their attention. From up in the air I saw that one of the gu masters look up at me and dodge all while telling the others and shooting out a grey arm that went after me.

The enemy all looked up at me but I swapped places with my feather man who was now closer to them. I used jab gu and shot out to the nearest one. I used jab gu again and with my fist that had brass knuckles smashed into the stomach of one of the men. Who spat out blood as my fist went into his body before it sent his body flying.

I used jab gu and went ran past as I saw one of the others attack me with their grey hands. However a arrow went through the head of one of them from up above. " LaLi NOOOOO!!!!" the last man yelled out as he saw the girls body fall after being struck by the arrow.

It gave me the time to reach into my pockets and take out a spiked metal ball and used jab gu to send it flying at the man. It struck him in the chest concaving it as the ball shot out of his body. I looked over to see the last lady alive dodging arrows from my featherman self and sending out the grey arms at him.

She quickly noticed me and with her other arm she sent out another grey arm at me. I used jab gu to send myself back as I solidified my human self and had him approach her. She sent a grey arm at him and hit my human self. I felt something hurt him but nothing serious.

Well, if that grey arm is a Soul Path offensive gu, my variant selves don't have a soul to injure. It might dissipate the will, but that's it. As for this gu master, she seemed the strongest of the four gu masters. She was able to detect me quickly, so she must have a recon gu, and her grey arm attack was an entire arm, whereas the others only had a grey hand shoot out.

She had the aura of a rank 3 gu master, but I didn't feel much danger from her. As long as her grey arm didn't touch me, I should be safe. Otherwise, if it did and I didn't have the defensive method Linghun placed on me, I'm not sure how strong the attack would be. She then saw the real me, turned around, and tried to leave, but I swapped places with my featherman self.

Using Jab Gu, I ran up to her and struck her legs, knocking her down. At the same time, she raised her hands at me, and an upper body of a grey person shot out at me. I immediately swapped places with my featherman self as I saw him get hit, but he placed his hands on her throat, causing her to shoot another grey arm at him.

I went up and refilled his will, as the previous attack had destroyed most of his will. "Stop resisting and cooperate with me, and you'll live." She eyed me as she spoke with a bit of a struggle. "And why should I trust you? You all came here and attacked us," she said.

Well it's either you work with me or you die. What do you say?" As I said that my featherman self began to choke her. As her eyes began to let out tears and she looked around hoping for someone to come to her aid. Just as she was out of breathe my featherman self eased his grip on her.

She took in a deep breath of air as she looked at me. A gu landed on her head and I asked once more." Are you gonna cooperate with me or will I have to kill you don't lie I'll know if you do." She looked at me in terror as she said " I'll.... I'll listen to you."

Truth shines gu told me she was telling the truth. From my aperture I brought out a gu it looked like a scorpion that had long thin claws that could close like a ring and a very long thin string like tail. " don't struggle or resist." The scorpion gu wrapped its claws around her neck and closed like a necklace as its thin tail went into the back of her head.

" this gu is called obedient collar gu. I can give simple commands and if you don't follow them it'll release a deadly venom directly into your head killing you instantly. One don't activate any gu, two do not harm me and lastly do not try to escape or undue my control. Do you understand?" She nodded her head.

This gu was obtained by exchanging one beggar moth gu. I have another to so if I can get another strong gu master I'll try to get them too." Now do you know where any gu vaults are? Or where a elder would keep their treasure?" My featherman self let her go as she looked at me in fear.

"The elders aren't allowed to hoard wealth, or the clan leader will punish them. So I don't really know where they would keep wealth, even if they had any." Truth Shines Gu indicated that she was telling the truth. I guess this clan was very strict with resources. I'd like to go to where they grow resources, if they do grow any, but the odds are it's already been looted.

"Alright then, do you guys have an academy that has a gu vault?" She heard me and nodded her head. "Yes, it's that building over there." She pointed to a building with the front half destroyed. Well, I hope the gu vault is okay and hasn't been looted. Before I left, I took off my purple robe and put it over the girl. "Keep that on. I don't need others thinking you're not with me. Now lead the way."

We made our way over to the building as I used Thermal Vision Gu to avoid the people fighting. Stepping into the partially destroyed building, she led me to the center, where there was a floor vault with two large metal doors. "It's in there," she said. I walked up to it and brought out my well-stored gu.

I took out a metal-spiked bat and a crowbar. Aiming at the very obvious metal lock, I swung the bat at it and shattered the lock, sending pieces everywhere. Then I put the crowbar between the doors and popped one off like it was a twig. Opening the doors, I brought out my human self and had him walk in.

Spikes came out and struck him, but he continued, and then five ghostly figures popped out and struck him. This time, it completely destroyed him. I brought him back out and he went back in, but nothing happened. It seemed I had already activated all the traps.

"Did you know it was booby-trapped?" I asked her.

"No, I swear," she said, but her words meant nothing to me. However, Truth Shines Gu confirmed she was telling the truth. I then returned Truth Shines Gu to me. From Well-Stored Gu, I brought out waterproof sacks and handed them to my human self, featherman self, and the girl. "Get every gu and all the food they have stored here. Keep the gu and the non-living food separate."

We began our raid as I kept watch using Thermal Vision Gu to make sure no one was coming our way.

"So, you just wanted to get two slaves and loot what you can?" I heard Initel's voice say aloud. "Everyone else is gonna do it, and I told them they didn't have to pay me with primeval essence stones in exchange for living sacrifice gu, but I never said I wouldn't loot."

I heard her let out a cute giggle. "My, my, to think you'd be so cunning and greedy, my disciple." I chose not to answer her as they took everything they could.

When we had everything, I stored what I could into Well-Stored Gu. Then I grabbed the girl and my human self, who had all the goods, and transported back to the clan.

The girl looked lost as she looked around. "No time for explanations. My other self will explain later. For now, you guys are going to my home." My human self took her away as I brought out another robe from my Well-Stored Gu and then went back to the Slin clan.

My featherman self and I went back out in to the battlefield, with him using Big Gu to carry me more easily into the sky for a better vantage point of the clan. I used Thermal Vision Gu to scan as we flew around the clan and saw a large group of people fighting, with some huddling in groups.

I decided to investigate, as it seemed odd. Flying over, I saw my clansmen fighting the Slin clansmen, and a large group of what I assumed were mortals cowering at the sides, trying their best not to get hit by any stray attacks. Using the bow and arrows my featherman handed me, I began shooting at the enemy from above.

My shots seriously injured any enemy they struck, and my clansmen took full advantage of it. A few of the enemies noticed me and began sending grey hands and arms at me, but my featherman self avoided them as my clansmen attacked whenever the enemies were distracted.

It was already a huge difference between the two of us, as all of my clansmen were rank 3 and most of the Slin were rank 2. Now, with my tactical air attacks, it only made things worse for them. We dwindled their numbers down to the point where there were only about 29 of them left, and just as we were finishing them off, someone shouted, "RETREAT!!!!! THE SIGNAL HAS BEEN USED!!!"

One of my own clansmen said this aloud, confusing everyone. I looked into the sky and saw a large red smoke rising into the air. It was the signal that only rank 4 gu masters would use... which meant they were losing to the Slin clan leader. My clansmen also saw it and began to retreat back to where Linghun was, as that was the plan if we failed the mission.

The Slin clansmen did not chase us; they watched in relief as we retreated. I went over to our retreat point, and it looked like most of us were already there. "Is everyone here?" I asked aloud.

"This is most of us. Some took the Wind Fin Sharks, and the two rank 4s are still fighting the clan leader. Anyone else ran off or is dead, so let's go," one lady responded, with the others agreeing.

"Alright, everyone, hold on to each other," I said, as I grabbed the nearest person to me. Then, after a few seconds, I teleported back to the clan with everyone. I felt my Primeval Sea Essence plummet as I had to use the Primeval Sea Essence in Beggar Moth Gu to supplement what I was missing.

I had only 40% left in Beggar Moth Gu, but I couldn't stay, as I had to go get the rank 4 gu masters. I teleported back to my featherman self, and had him fly me over to where the red smoke was. It was a struggle, as I was heavy and my featherman self wasn't using Big Gu. Using Thermal Vision Gu, I located the rank 4 gu master who had gone with Fuile to kill the clan leader.

I swooped down as she launched a large water current at a ghostly figure that was attacking her. "I'm here. Where's Fuile?" I asked her, and relief washed over her as she grabbed onto me.

"She's dead. That's why I ordered the retreat. Go now," she ordered urgently, but I had to make sure I put Truth Shines Gu on her and asked again.

"Is she really dead?" She looked at me, and the anger was clear as day.

"Yes! Now go!!!" she snapped. She spoke the truth, but before I could leave, Initel's will said, "No, stay here. I'm going to nip this problem in the bud."

"Who's that? We can't wait—his methods destroyed our shields in one swoop, and the second time it touched Fuile, it killed her instantly," she said.

Initel's will came out and took form as she used a method that smacked away the ghostly figure that had come to attack us.

"An immortal is here to deal with me... I feel honored," a large man appeared from a building. He stood at 6 feet and would have been good-looking if it weren't for the blank white eyes he had.

"You send a corpse at me?" Initel's will said, and then she spoke again. "No, looks like the real you left a long time ago. Well played, but why leave when you were clearly stronger than the group sent to deal with you?" she asked.

"I wasn't worried about them, but I was worried about the Hu clan because of beings like you," he responded.

"We wouldn't be here if you didn't use mortals to empower yourself," Initel's will said.

"I see. I won't do it again, then," he said, but his body began to turn to dust, leaving nothing in his place.
