"Hmm, when was the inheritance placed on my soul?" Fang Yuan asked calmly.
"The moment you stepped into this world, your soul was marked by my master, and you received the inheritance at that time. Don't worry, the mark is temporary and will be removed once the inheritance is fully awakened," Fang Zhi explained, watching Fang Yuan's expressionless face.
"Alright, activate the inheritance within my soul," Fang Yuan said with steady resolve.
Fang Zhi used his hand to press on Fang Yuan's forehead. Almost instantly, a searing pain erupted within Fang Yuan's body, as if his very soul was being unraveled and reshaped. His muscles tensed, veins bulging as waves of agony surged through him. Yet, with his teeth clenched tightly, he endured it without a sound, his determination unshakable. Sweat dripped down his face, but his eyes remained fierce, focused on bearing the process to completion.
Suddenly, golden symbols began to appear, flickering across his skin before fading into his body. The room hummed with an Immortal essence as the inheritance continued to integrate into his soul. Fang Yuan felt his vision blur momentarily, but his mind remained sharp, fully aware of the immense power settling within him.
Fang Zhi observed quietly, his expression unreadable. "Good. I knew you could endure it. The inheritance is fully integrated within you. I'm leaving now—your life is yours to control. But be careful; do not reveal anything about the inheritance, or you will become their target."
With those parting words, Fang Zhi stepped back, leaving the exhausted, sweat-soaked Fang Yuan behind. "Goodbye," he said softly before activating a killer move. In an instant, Fang Yuan was transported from the underground chamber back to the surface. As the wind brushed against him, Fang Zhi vanished without a trace.
Fang Yuan stood on the ground, dazed, as his mind churned with countless thoughts about the inheritance.
"Hmm," he muttered as he looked ahead and saw a translucent blue screen hovering before him. The screen displayed several glowing texts, but his attention was drawn to two distinct items. The first was a mist-filled sphere encased in a glass container, the swirling mist inside shifting mysteriously. The second item was a ticket labeled "Gacha," with a glowing x10 displayed below it, hinting at its potential use.
"So, this is a system, that was used my many mc's in the novels I read in my past life." Even though Fang Yuan didn't read many novels he still read a few which was recomended by his firend. He forgot all the relationships of his past, that's why he couldn't recall any novels he read.
He used his hand to press against the system but the hand went through, the system as it came from the otherside, "So, this works with my mind, makes sense as it is connected to my mind and soul."
He used his mind to press on the collect button, and the rewards materialized before him in a swirl of light. The items hovered momentarily before disappearing into his inventory. The rewards were part of the beginner package.
"First, I need to get back to the hut and check everything later," he muttered to himself. "If I stay here too long, others will become suspicious." Without hesitation, Fang Yuan composed himself, and began making his way back toward the clan academy, where the students lived.
He took out the bottle of liquor hanging from his waist on the right side and drank it in one go, allowing the fiery liquid to burn its way down his throat. He staggered slightly, adopting a drunken gait as he clutched the bottle in his other hand. Every step he took was part of his calculated act—to fool any onlookers into thinking he was just a depressed young man drowning his sorrows on a long stroll.
His mind, however, was anything but intoxicated. As he continued walking, he carefully evaluated his next steps, his sharp thoughts hidden beneath the facade of drunkenness.
