Rise of the Ultimate Profit System

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The First Step to Power

Ed took a deep breath, his eyes fixed on the floating system screen before him. The task was simple—earn 10,000 pesos within 24 hours. But for someone who barely had enough to eat, it felt impossible.

His mind raced. He had no job, no connections, and no starting capital. How was he supposed to make that much money?

[Hint: Opportunities exist everywhere. The host must use his wit and greed to exploit them.]

The words on the screen made him pause. Opportunities exist everywhere…

He gritted his teeth and wiped the dried blood from his lip. He couldn't afford to waste time. His first instinct was to find something valuable—something he could sell. He scanned the alley around him. A few old newspapers, some discarded plastic bottles… nothing of real worth.

Then, an idea struck him.

Pawnshops.

He quickly patted his pockets. There wasn't much, but he had his old phone. It wasn't the latest model, but it worked. Maybe he could sell it for quick cash.

With newfound determination, Ed rushed through the streets, heading toward the nearest pawnshop. The city was in chaos—people were panicking over the strange energy in the air, and news reports were already flooding TVs and radios about the "Earth Evolution."

But Ed had no time to dwell on that. He reached the pawnshop and pushed the door open, breathing heavily.

An old man behind the counter raised an eyebrow. "What do you want?"

Ed placed his phone on the counter. "How much can I get for this?"

The old man inspected it, then smirked. "800 pesos."

Ed's jaw tightened. That was far too little. But before he could argue, the system's screen flashed again.

[New Skill Activated: Market Manipulation]

A strange sensation flowed through Ed's mind, and suddenly, he knew exactly what to say.

"Come on, sir. This phone is in perfect condition, and with everything happening right now, communication is more important than ever. I know you're going to resell it for twice the price. 2,500 pesos, and it's yours."

The old man frowned, but Ed could see the hesitation in his eyes. After a long pause, the man sighed. "Fine. 2,000. That's my final offer."

Ed nodded, trying to contain his excitement. "Deal."

As he left the pawnshop with 2,000 pesos in hand, a grin spread across his face.

This system… it was real.

And he was just getting started.
