RWBY: Oscar the gamer

Chapter 36: You can't get drunk

Oscar left his penalty zone, as he did he heard a conversation between Jaune and Pyrrha, he was wondering what they were doing here this late so he just waited.

And so he did, after Pyrrha left, Oscar came out.

Oscar looked at Jaune. "Interesting story".

Jaune turned around as he saw Oscar as he has a bit of fear. "How much did you hear".

Oscar walked up to him and spoke. "Everyhting actually, even about you faking transcript to Beacon Academy, you know that explains a lot".

Jaune stepped back as he looked at Oscar. "Hey Oscar don't tell anyone".

Oscar just was a bit confused by that. "Why would I tell anyone in the first place"

Jaune shifted uncomfortably, his hands raised in a defensive posture. "I-I just don't want anyone to find out, alright? It's already embarrassing enough, and I don't want it to affect Pyrrha or my teammates."

Oscar crossed his arms and leaned against the nearby wall, studying Jaune for a moment. He could sense the vulnerability in Jaune's voice, and something in him softened. "Look, Jaune, I'm not interested in dragging anyone down. Your secret's safe with me, for what it's worth."

Jaune let out a sigh of relief, the tension in his posture easing. "Thanks, Oscar. You don't know how much that means to me."

Oscar glanced at him, his expression neutral. "You don't need to thank me. But you should know that if you keep lying to yourself, it's just going to get harder. You're here at Beacon because you deserve to be, even if your transcript wasn't perfect. No one gets a free pass here, not really."

Jaune looked away, clearly conflicted. "Yeah, but I don't want to be a burden. Pyrrha... she's so much better than me at everything. I feel like I'm just holding her back."

Oscar shrugged slightly, his tone more relaxed now. "You think Pyrrha doesn't know that? Trust me, she cares about you for who you are, not because of your transcript or your combat skills. If you can't see that, maybe you should just ask her straight up."

Jaune gave a small, nervous laugh. "Yeah, right. I'll get right on that."

Oscar smiled slightly. "I'm serious. But, if you ever need someone to talk to... or if you need a distraction... you know where to find me."

Jaune met Oscar's gaze, a genuine smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Thanks, Oscar. I appreciate it."

Oscar gave him a nod before turning toward the exit. "No problem. Just don't let it eat at you. You'll get there."

As Oscar walked away, he couldn't help but think that Jaune, despite all his struggles, was slowly starting to understand what it meant to truly be a Huntsman. He still had a long way to go, but maybe, just maybe, he was beginning to realize that it wasn't about being perfect, but about trying your best.

And Oscar? He was starting to feel like he was a part of something bigger. His path wasn't just about leveling up or surviving—he was starting to feel like a part of this team, with people who cared and challenges that would shape him into something better.

The next day arrived and will something interesting was happening that day, which even Oscar didn't expect.

As in one particular table was both team ROWBY and Team JNPR.

Yang looked at as she explained her plan. "So what do you, you all on board".

Oscar just looked at her and spoke. "Let me gets this correct, you want the 9 of us, to go to bar where normal part happen, join in and enjoy our self and get wasted".

Yang chuckled as she then spoke. "And probably high as well".

Pyrrha then spoke as bit nervous. "Um are we even allowed to do that".

Ren then spoke taking a bite do his food. "Sense we are Hunter in training, by the Law we legally Adults, so yes".

Blake just srugged as she spoke. "I am on board".

Weiss just as she spoke. "As long this Isaac doesn't learn about this, I gess I can".

Ruby and Nora spoke excited. "Oh I am in, let's do this".

Ren and Oscar then spoke together. "I am also going because someone needs to keep on her".

Jaune looked left and right and was a bit nervous. "I gess you count me in".

Seeing they Jaune was joking Pyrrha then answer. "Will, why not I guess".

Yang got up with a grin. "Sweet, we are going to Junior bar this afternoon".

Oscar then though to him self. "This is going to an interesting afternoon".

As the group finalized their plans, Oscar couldn't help but wonder how this impromptu trip to Junior's bar was going to play out. He glanced around the table, noting the mix of excitement and apprehension on everyone's faces. It wasn't every day you saw Weiss Schnee agreeing to such a reckless outing, or Pyrrha Nikos, the picture-perfect warrior, nervously trying to justify her decision.

Yang, ever the instigator, clapped her hands together. "Alright, everyone, meet at the bullhead station at 4 PM sharp. Don't be late!" She then pointed at Oscar. "And you, farm boy, don't chicken out."

Oscar raised an eyebrow. "I wasn't planning to. But someone has to keep an eye on all of you once things get... chaotic."

Blake smirked, her voice calm yet teasing. "You mean when Yang starts a bar brawl?"

Yang laughed loudly. "Oh, come on! That was one time!" She paused, grinning mischievously. "Okay, maybe twice."

Weiss groaned, rubbing her temples. "I can't believe I'm agreeing to this madness. If my family ever finds out, I'll never hear the end of it."

Ruby leaned over with a playful grin. "Don't worry, Weiss. I'll make sure to keep an eye on you."

Weiss narrowed her eyes. "Somehow, that doesn't make me feel any better."

Meanwhile, Nora was practically bouncing in her seat, excitement radiating off her. "I can't wait! Drinks, dancing, and maybe even some arm wrestling! This is going to be so much fun!"

Ren sighed, his calm demeanor unshaken. "Just remember to pace yourself, Nora. I'm not carrying you back if you overdo it."

Jaune, still visibly nervous, scratched the back of his neck. "Are we sure this is a good idea? I mean, what if we get into trouble?"

Pyrrha placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder, smiling warmly. "Don't worry, Jaune. We'll stick together. Besides, it's a good chance to relax and bond as a team."

Oscar leaned back in his chair, his arms crossed. "Relax, Jaune. It's just one night. What's the worst that could happen?"

As the group began to disperse, Oscar couldn't shake the feeling that this was going to be far more eventful than anyone anticipated. Junior's bar was infamous for its wild nights and even wilder patrons. Whatever happened, one thing was certain: this afternoon was going to be one for the history books.

Later that evening, ever came at the bullhead station, everyone was wearing the normal outfit, which was basically there hunters outfit, as for Oscar he was wearing the Cleric Beast skin, just incase something happened.

Yang looked at Oscars and asked for 5th time. "Seriously, where did you get that cool leather jacket".

Oscar looked at her and spoke. "My secret".

They walked, as they did the Music hit them, the lights was blazing and everything was some type of enjoyment going on, as then they saw the owner of their his Place Junior as he looked at Yang and walked him, fixing the Neck colour he was still wearing.

Oscar looked at Yang and spoke. "You had something to do with this"

Yang laughing spoke. "Maybe"

"Will what do we have here?".

The group turned there head to see a pair of girl, and they were twin.

One them wears an off white, strapless dress that graduates to a cyan towards the skirt, it has a cyan layered feathery tulle that hangs longer than the dress and a small bow in the top center part of the dress.

And the other one wears a red strapless dress that is patterned with newspaper articles with the headings "A New York la pop art di Alborghetti", "Amity Arena", and "New York Fine Art".

Her dress has black and dark red lace layered tulle that hangs down more than the dress. She has an off-centred bow belt around her waist and wears a pair of red thigh-high boots with black heels and soles alongside white lace-up detail. Twin silver chains run round from the back of the boots connecting to layer armor plating on the front of her boots. She wears lacy black stockings that peek out over the top of her boots accompanied by black garter straps that supposedly connect to her underwear.

The red sister spoke Looking at her sister. "Looks like we have a former 'friend' don't we Melamine".

The white sister now knows as Melanie answered her sister. "Why yes Mitia, so Yang are you here do trouble again".

Yang looked at the as she spoke. "So still mad about last time".

Mitia answer her as she spoke. "You just got lucky noting more".

Yang looked at them as she spoke. "Oh wanna try itX.

Melamine just looked at her and spoke. "We would but we have work's to do".

As they left, as Oscar just looked at him, he was definitely going to have to deal with this.

So they walked and everyone went there different side, as Oscar sat near a drink stall as he asked for a drink, the Bartender was a bit confused then he shows him Beacon idy, and the Bartender gave him the drink as the Bartender went his own way.

Oscar looked at the drink as she spoke. "Will here I go".

He took a taste a bit sweety and a bit future with a side of tart, to say he got lucky will be an understatement, it tasted ok but was something someone has to get use to, this was old so he felt like he was swallowing fire a bit, will at least he can get drunk right?

Ding!

Oscar just sighed and was happy no one but him can see the system. "Will looks like I have become the babysitter, will better finish this".

As Oscar took another sip, he couldn't help but glance around the bar, keeping an eye on his team—and Team JNPR. Everyone had scattered to their own corners, mingling, drinking, or testing the waters of what promised to be a chaotic evening.

Yang was at the center of the bar's energy, already challenging some poor soul to a drinking contest while Ruby hovered nearby, her excitement barely contained. Weiss, in stark contrast, sat in a booth, meticulously wiping the rim of her glass before even taking a sip. Ren and Nora, unsurprisingly, stuck together, with Nora loudly challenging anyone to arm-wrestle her while Ren calmly nursed his drink, clearly there to make sure Nora didn't end up flipping tables.

Oscar shook his head and muttered to himself, "I'm surrounded by lunatics."

From his seat, he saw Pyrrha coaxing Jaune into dancing. Jaune, ever the awkward one, was flailing more than dancing, but Pyrrha's patience seemed endless as she guided him through the motions. Blake, meanwhile, leaned against a wall near the jukebox, sipping her drink and observing the chaos with her usual quiet demeanor. She gave a small wave when she noticed Oscar looking her way, which he returned with a nod.

Just as he finished his drink, he noticed Melanie and Miltiades—or "Melanie and Miltia" as Yang had introduced them—eyeing him from across the room. He pretended not to notice, but his instincts told him they might be trouble later.

Suddenly, a commotion broke out near the bar. Oscar turned to see Yang, mid-laugh, slamming her glass down and pointing at Junior, who was trying to calm her down. "You seriously think I can't handle another round? Bring it on!" Yang's grin was wild, and Oscar could already tell where this was heading.

He sighed again, setting his glass down. "Yep. Babysitter it is."

Just then, Ruby slid into the seat next to him, holding a bright red drink that looked more like candy than alcohol. She took a sip and made a face. "Ugh! This is awful! How do people drink this stuff?"

Oscar chuckled. "You don't have to drink it if you don't like it, you know."

Ruby pouted, setting the drink down. "Yeah, but Yang said I should at least try something. She said it's part of growing up or whatever."

"That's Yang for you," Oscar said with a small smirk. "She thinks everything needs to be an adventure."

Ruby nodded and looked around. "So, what about you? Having fun?"

Oscar raised an eyebrow. "If by 'fun' you mean sitting here and making sure none of you get arrested, then sure."

Ruby laughed. "You sound like an old man, Oscar."

He shrugged. "Someone has to keep you kids out of trouble."

Ruby rolled her eyes but smiled. "Well, I'm glad you're here. It's nice having someone responsible around."

Before Oscar could respond, a loud crash echoed through the bar. Both of them turned to see Nora standing triumphantly over a broken table, flexing her arms as she declared victory over her latest arm-wrestling opponent. Ren sighed deeply, already heading over to pay for the damages.

Oscar pinched the bridge of his nose. "And there it is."

Ruby laughed again. "Looks like you've got your work cut out for you."

30 minutes later it Happened, as Oscar took another drink, he liked the taste even if he couldn't get drunk, as he close his eyes he felt the wind pass as he saw trale of Rose petals go pass, a he saw who it was.

Osacr just groned and got up. "Great, just great, Ruby got drunked".

Oscar sighed, setting his glass down as he watched Ruby stumble across the bar, a dizzy grin plastered on her face. She was giggling uncontrollably, leaving a trail of rose petals in her wake as she bumped into a nearby table, nearly knocking over someone's drink.

"Ruby!" Oscar called, quickly weaving through the crowd to reach her. She turned toward him, her eyes slightly unfocused but still full of her usual energy.

"Oscaaaaar!" she slurred, pointing at him dramatically. "You gotta try this... this thing! It's like juice but also, like, magic!"

Oscar grabbed her by the shoulders gently to steady her. "Ruby, what are you even doing? How much did you drink?"

She tilted her head, clearly trying to count on her fingers, but after the third attempt, she just shrugged. "I dunno! Yang said to try the colorful ones, so I did! The pink one was awesome! And the blue one—oh my gosh, it was like drinking the sky!"

Oscar groaned again. "Yang... of course."

As if on cue, Yang appeared nearby, laughing with a group of strangers and clearly having the time of her life. Oscar shot her a look, but she was too busy to notice—or maybe she just didn't care.

"Okay, Ruby," Oscar said, trying to guide her toward a quieter corner. "You need to sit down before you cause a scene."

Ruby pouted, resisting. "But Oscaaaar, I wanna dance! Look! I've got moves!" She flailed her arms and spun in a circle, nearly tripping over her own feet.

Oscar barely managed to catch her before she hit the floor. "Alright, no more dancing for you. Come on, let's find Weiss. She'll help me get you out of here."

As he half-dragged, half-carried Ruby through the crowd, he spotted Weiss sitting at a booth with Blake. The two were deep in conversation, but Weiss immediately noticed the situation and frowned.

"What happened?" Weiss asked, standing up as Oscar approached.

"Our fearless leader decided to try every drink in the bar," Oscar said, exasperated. "She's completely out of it."

Weiss sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Of course she did. Leave it to Ruby to turn a simple outing into a disaster."

Blake chuckled softly. "Well, it was bound to happen with Yang egging her on."

"Can you two help me get her to sit down?" Oscar asked. "I don't think she can stand on her own for much longer."

Weiss nodded, taking Ruby's other arm while Blake moved to clear a space in their booth. Together, they managed to get Ruby seated, though she immediately leaned forward, resting her head on the table.

"You guys are the best," Ruby mumbled, her voice muffled. "I love you all so much."

Weiss rolled her eyes. "She's definitely going to regret this in the morning."

Oscar crossed his arms. "Yeah, and so is Yang when I'm done with her." He glanced around, spotting Yang still laughing it up across the room. "I'll go deal with her. Can you two keep an eye on Ruby?"

Blake nodded. "We've got it covered. Good luck."

Oscar sighed, steeling himself as he made his way toward Yang. This night was turning out to be far more work than he'd anticipated.
