Chapter 198: Chapter 198: Phantom Mirage Demon Emperor Fist, Xiao Wu’s Sacrifice
Chapter 198: Phantom Mirage Demon Emperor Fist, Xiao Wu's Sacrifice
Once the Gates of Hell are crossed, the only way to return to Douluo Star is by clearing all the trials.
This reminder from the system effectively quashed Xiao Yu's idea of exploiting any loopholes. He now had to proceed with greater caution and deliberation.
If Xiao Yu could exit the Underworld at will, he could call in reinforcements against any insurmountable foe. For instance, the Grand Worshipper of the Spirit Hall, Qian Daoliu, with his Holy Light attribute Six-Winged Angel martial spirit, was an obvious nemesis for the undead of the Underworld. Unless a Rank 100 god-level entity appeared, it was unlikely anyone could defeat Qian Daoliu.
However, the restriction meant Xiao Yu couldn't rely on Qian Daoliu. First, having a Rank 99 Limit Douluo by his side would render the entire trial pointless. Second, if Qian Daoliu were to disappear for an extended period, the Spirit Hall's Worship Hall might collapse in chaos.
Even with Qian Daoliu's presence, Bibi Dong had infiltrated the Worship Hall to the extent that the prestigious Third Worshipper, Qingluan Douluo, and Fourth Worshipper, Xiongshi Douluo, had defected to her camp.
If Qian Daoliu stayed in the Underworld for a year or more, he might return only to find the grand Six-Winged Angel statue replaced by one of Bibi Dong herself.
"Forget it. I'll think about this carefully later!"
Xiao Yu was determined to enter the Underworld, but he needed to decide carefully who to take along.
For now, he had a more pressing matter: having recently broken through to Rank 70, it was time for Xiao Yu to absorb his seventh spirit ring—and the iconic scene of Xiao Wu's sacrifice was about to play out.
Sunset Forest, Nine-Star Hall Branch, Prison Cell
Since the day she had been threatened by Xiao Yu and betrayed her own kind, Xiao Wu had been in despair, crying herself to sleep every day. Her thoughts often drifted to her beloved Tang San and her only remaining protector, the Sky Azure Bull Python, hoping they would one day uncover the Nine-Star Hall's treachery and come to her rescue.
Suddenly, an imperceptible spiritual force swept through the cell. Immersed in her grief, Xiao Wu didn't notice the intrusion. Her consciousness faltered for just a moment before she was trapped in an illusion.
Of course, given Saga's strength, even if Xiao Wu had been fully alert, she wouldn't have been able to resist.
"Xiao Wu! Xiao Wu!"
Through her tearful haze, Xiao Wu suddenly heard a voice she had yearned for day and night. Overcome with emotion, she cried out, "Brother San! It's Brother San here to save me!"
Filled with excitement, Xiao Wu rushed to the cell door, shaking the metal bars with all her strength and shouting loudly, "Brother San! Brother San! I'm here!"
Boom!
Before her eyes, a massive black hammer flew through the air, smashing aside the Soul Masters guarding her cell. They were sent crashing into the reinforced metal walls, their bodies reduced to broken heaps. The immense destructive power of the Clear Sky Hammer turned everything in its path to dust.
As the dust settled, Tang San and Tang Hao appeared in Xiao Wu's line of sight.
"Brother San!"
Xiao Wu exclaimed with joy before turning to Tang Hao and expressing her gratitude. "Uncle Tang, thank you for coming to rescue me!"
During her captivity, Xiao Wu had been kept completely isolated, unaware of what had transpired outside. In her mind, Tang San was still too weak to rescue her from the Nine-Star Hall on his own and must have enlisted the help of his father, Tang Hao.
Tang Hao nodded slightly, while Tang San, unable to contain his urgency, summoned his Clear Sky Hammer once more. With a single strike, he obliterated the cell door, rushing in to grab Xiao Wu's hand. "Xiao Wu, we can't stay here! Let's go!"
"Mm!"
Xiao Wu nodded, her heart filled with relief and hope as she followed Tang San and Tang Hao out of the prison.
Xiao Wu nodded, her face filled with happiness as she tightly clasped Tang San's rough hand in hers. With Tang Hao leading the way, the pair followed closely behind, dashing through the long prison corridor and out the main gate.
"Someone's trying to steal the 100,000-year transformed soul beast! Don't let them escape!"
The alarms blared across the entire Nine-Star Hall, and countless figures converged on them from all directions.
"Tang Hao, you think you can rescue someone from the Nine-Star Hall? You're not strong enough!"
A booming voice echoed, and a figure blocked their path. Nine soul rings lit up around him, rising into the air.
Xiao Wu immediately recognized him. He was the very person who had intercepted her when she left Shrek Academy, capturing and imprisoning her in the Nine-Star Hall for the past two years.
"Xiao San, take Xiao Wu and run! I'll handle this guy!"
Tang Hao roared, his own nine soul rings glowing brightly. In a flash, he clashed fiercely with Radamanthys.
"Xiao Wu, let's go!"
Without hesitation, Tang San grabbed Xiao Wu's hand. Deploying Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track at full speed, he moved unpredictably, dodging the assailants lunging at them and fleeing toward the forest with everything he had.
"You think you can escape? Where do you think you're going?"
Just as they were about to reach the woods, a mocking voice rang out. Floating in midair, dressed in black, Xiao Yu watched them coldly. His handsome face, for Xiao Wu, was a living nightmare.
"Xiao Yu! I'll kill you!"
In the illusion, Tang San roared and charged at Xiao Yu with his Clear Sky Hammer raised high.
"Foolish."
Xiao Yu smirked coldly. With a casual swing of the Underworld King Sword, he effortlessly blocked Tang San's full-force strike. Before Tang San could react, Xiao Yu's figure flashed, appearing directly in front of him. A swift kick sent Tang San flying.
"Brother San!"
Xiao Wu screamed in anguish, running toward Tang San.
But Xiao Yu was faster. Before Xiao Wu could cover the distance, Xiao Yu had already appeared beside Tang San. He stomped mercilessly on Tang San's chest, driving him into the ground and causing blood to gush from his wounds.
"Please, I beg you! Don't hurt him! Spare Brother San!"
Seeing Tang San trampled so cruelly, Xiao Wu's heart shattered. She sobbed as she pleaded.
Xiao Yu ignored her cries and looked down at Tang San beneath his foot. "Tang San, you had a path to heaven, but you chose hell instead."
Raising the Underworld King Sword, Xiao Yu plunged it mercilessly into Tang San's chest. The sharp blade pierced through Tang San's heart, and blood poured forth.
"Brother!"
Xiao Wu let out a heart-wrenching cry as she watched Tang San's life fade away, his heart pierced by the sword.
Expressionless, Xiao Yu withdrew the sword. Turning to Xiao Wu, he said coldly, "Little rabbit, your beloved Tang San is dead. No one will come to save you now. Be a good girl and stay in your cell. Wait for the day I absorb your soul ring!"
"In your dreams!"
A look of absolute determination appeared on Xiao Wu's face. Gazing at Tang San's lifeless body with deep longing, she whispered, "Brother, goodbye."
Blinding red light suddenly spread from the center of Xiao Wu's brow, transforming into a brilliant crimson halo that expanded outward in an instant. Wherever the red light passed, everything was dyed blood-red, and time itself seemed to freeze.
The sacrifice of the 100,000-year soul beast had begun.
