Chapter 257: Chapter 256: Hundred-Type Guanyin (Part 2)

In terms of overall Nen capacity, Razor was the most powerful individual Daniel Davis had encountered, second only to Netero himself, not even Biscuit could match him.

The dodgeball, charged with Razor's immense Nen, flew toward Daniel with a powerful whooshing sound.

"Coming for me, huh? Perfect." Seeing that Razor had targeted him first, Daniel couldn't help but smile. He had already decided that no matter who Razor aimed at, he would intercept the ball, then finish the match with the next move.

As the rapidly spinning dodgeball hurtled toward him, Daniel simply extended his right hand and caught it head-on. Despite the ball's powerful rotation and the immense Nen energy it carried, it didn't budge Daniel even an inch.

Razor's expression darkened upon witnessing this, while Razor's companion, Genthru, stared at Daniel in shock. They had seen the force of that ball and knew that none of them could have caught it. Perhaps it was because of Daniel's presence that Razor hadn't held back from the start, unlike in the original story where Razor only revealed his true strength toward the end.

"My turn." Daniel smiled at Razor and, without any noticeable exertion, threw the dodgeball back. The ball, moving as fast as lightning, streaked through the air toward Razor.

"Defense!" Razor muttered, his body bending slightly as he crossed his arms over his chest, bracing himself for the incoming ball. One of Razor's fourteen Emission-type clones instantly appeared in front of the ball to block it.

Razor's ability to summon fourteen clones demonstrated his high level of mastery in Nen. These clones could not only fight autonomously but also shield Razor from harm at critical moments.

"These clones have a teleportation effect, similar to Genthru's ability," Daniel noted. Genthru, now one of Daniel's teammates, had an Emission-type Nen ability that allowed him to summon two large gorillas—one black and one white. Technically, these weren't clones but Nen beasts, much like Razor's fourteen demons.

Genthru could switch places with his Nen beasts.

"If you think that's enough to stop me, you're underestimating me."

Razor's clone didn't even manage to block the ball for an instant before it was pierced through and dissipated into the air.

This outcome didn't surprise Razor. He immediately summoned three more clones to appear in the ball's path, and they managed to slow it down for a moment.

"It seems these clones can be summoned instantly to the user's side," Daniel deduced as he watched Razor summon all his remaining clones to shield himself.

"It's a great ability, but unfortunately, even with this, you're going to lose this match." Daniel hadn't gone all out, but he also hadn't held back too much. With Angel's Breath at his disposal, he wasn't worried about severely injuring Razor. As long as Razor wasn't killed outright, he could be healed.

The dodgeball, after breaking through the fourteen clones, finally collided directly with Razor. The ball's intense spin caused it to emit a loud whistling sound as it pushed against Razor's palms, driving his feet across the floor.

Despite his best efforts to anchor himself with Nen, Razor could only leave deep grooves in the floor as he was pushed back by the ball's force. His hands, protected by a thick layer of Nen, swelled visibly under the strain of the ball's friction.

"It seems the ball's force was weakened quite a bit," Daniel thought, slightly disappointed. If Razor had a few more clones, he might not have even been pushed out of bounds.

"You win," Razor conceded as the ball finally lost its momentum. He glanced at the line just ahead of his feet, knowing he had lost.

With victory secured, Daniel quickly received the card as a reward. Razor stepped away momentarily to bandage his hands, which were swollen but not seriously injured. With his strength, Razor would be almost fully healed within a couple of days, a week at most. Using Angel's Breath or Nen healing could speed up the recovery even more.

"You're Gon, right? Ging said you'd come here. I didn't expect you to actually show up," Razor said as he approached Gon after distributing the rewards.

Gon had been wondering why Razor sought him out until he heard the mention of Ging, at which point his face lit up with excitement as he eagerly asked about Ging's whereabouts and how to find him.

"We'll talk about that later," Razor replied, not immediately addressing Ging's situation, because just as Daniel had inserted the "A Strip of Coastline" card into his book, a system notification echoed throughout the game.

It was a notice about the final card, Card Zero: The Ruler's Blessing. The announcement indicated that all players in the game were eligible to participate in a quiz, and the player with the highest score would receive the Ruler's Blessing.

Upon hearing the system's announcement, Killua, Genthru, and the others all turned to Daniel. Initially, they had assumed that even if Daniel obtained ninety-nine cards, securing the last one wouldn't be easy, and that they would have time to catch up. But the game's mechanics turned out to be different.

Although Killua and Daniel got along well, in this game, they were rivals. Unlike Genthru's group, their rivalry was healthy.

"Uncle," Killua began with a smile, but before he could finish, the system had already started the quiz, cutting him off. The system wasn't going to wait for Killua to finish speaking.

"Looks like I can't let you have that last card, Uncle," Killua said before quickly focusing on the quiz. The Ruler's Blessing was a one-of-a-kind card, and as long as Daniel didn't get it, the others still had a chance to clear the game. So, both Gon, Biscuit, Killua, and Genthru's group were determined to win that card.

"If you think you can take this card from me, let's see how lucky you are." Daniel had prepared for this quiz in advance. Knowing the questions ahead of time and discussing them with Gon and Killua had given him an edge, so he was confident.

"Calculating results now." The hundred-question quiz ended quickly, and within a minute, all the players' scores were tallied. Seeing that he had the highest score, Daniel finally relaxed. Although he had prepared, he wasn't entirely sure he would come out on top. If someone else, especially Killua, had obtained Card Zero, it would have been a problem for him.

"It's just a card, but I remember Gon getting an invitation to meet the game's creators. It seems the treatment for the main character is different," Daniel thought as he placed the Ruler's Blessing into his book. He received a notification that he had become the first player to clear the game. Now, he just needed to handle the paperwork when leaving to take three cards into the real world.

"Good luck to you all." Greed Island was a game after all, and it wouldn't shut down just because someone had cleared it. A new quest would likely appear soon.

Even if the next quest didn't offer the reward of taking three cards out of the game, Ging would surely ensure that Gon was well taken care of, just as Daniel hadn't received any special invitation.

"Hunters have to earn what they want for themselves." Daniel initially planned to let Biscuit choose one of the three cards he could take out, specifically the Blue Planet she wanted. However, Biscuit declined, saying she didn't participate in his team's actions, so she had no right to the reward.

Since Biscuit insisted, Daniel didn't press the issue, but it did make him reconsider which third card to choose. The other two cards he selected were the Witch's Youth Restoring Potion and Angel's Breath.

Although these choices were somewhat underwhelming, Daniel found the other cards less useful. Compared to those, Angel's Breath at least had life-saving potential.

But with Biscuit not choosing, Daniel hesitated again on the third card, and even started to reconsider Angel's Breath.

After much deliberation, Daniel finally made his decision using a process of elimination. He didn't need the potion series, the profession series, or the gemstone series. The items and creatures series were also ruled out since he had already planned his Nen beast and wasn't interested in developing those creatures.

In the end, Daniel also gave up on Angel's Breath. The three cards he chose were the Youth Restoring Potion, the Harvest Tree, and the Beauty Spa.

The Harvest Tree was a unique tree that could bear various fruits, allowing one to enjoy fresh fruit regularly. The Beauty Spa, as the name suggested, was a hot spring with excellent effects on the skin, perfect for relaxing with others.

Having made his choice, Daniel left the game and redeemed the three cards.

Normally, game cards couldn't be taken out of the game, but after some manipulation on a computer by a character named Ida, Daniel was able to take them out. Further explanations about the cards also appeared.

The Youth Restoring Potion could be materialized as a bottle containing one hundred pills, with no additional conditions. However, the Harvest Tree and Beauty Spa required a continuous supply of energy, specifically Nen, to function. Fruit couldn't materialize out of thin air, and in the game, it was the "God" character that converted geothermal energy into fruit. Similarly, Daniel could use other abilities to convert energy into Nen, which was good news for him. With his Arc Reactor, even one of the Five Hopes, the impossible stone of the Hunter world, held no appeal for him.

"Tastes pretty good, like fruit," Daniel remarked after taking a pill from the Youth Restoring Potion and feeling the changes in his

 body.

"Doesn't seem like much of a change. Well, it's only one year's worth of physical regression, not a big deal for me. I'll give some of these to Ida and Robin," Daniel thought as he put away the Youth Restoring Potion.

As for the Harvest Tree and Beauty Spa, they could stay in card form for now.

"Seems like Nen in this world works similarly to the Philosopher's Stone."

"It's time to head to the Hunter Association."

After packing up a Greed Island console and several game cards, Daniel boarded an airship bound for the Hunter Association.

Whether it was information about the Dark Continent or knowledge about the "God" characters, the Hunter Association was the best place to seek it.

"Chairman Netero." In the lobby of the Hunter Association's headquarters, Daniel met the energetic old man. Dressed in casual attire, Netero smiled as he approached Daniel.

"Hello, Chairman."

"Biscuit rarely praises someone like that. Come, let's go," Netero said as he led Daniel toward an elevator in the center of the lobby.

"Pariston?" Unsure of Netero's intentions, Daniel followed him. He soon felt a strange gaze focused on him and turned to see a young man in a yellow suit with short blond hair at the front desk, smiling at him. When the man saw Daniel's gaze, he waved with a smile.

"Is he trying to greet me on purpose?" With Daniel's level of strength, if someone deliberately stared at him, he could sense it. Even some ordinary people had this ability. However, this only applied to malicious stares; normal gazes didn't trigger the same response.

At least a few dozen people were watching Daniel at that moment, but he had only noticed Pariston. As the chairman of the Hunter Association, Netero's every move attracted attention, and Daniel, following behind him, inevitably caught some of that attention.

"Who would have thought the Hunter Association had such a large underground space?" Daniel remarked with surprise as he stepped out of the elevator and saw the area outside.

Some of the signs on the doors indicated that this was likely the Hunter Association's research facility. The Association had many types of Hunters, including Virus Hunters, Poison Hunters, and more.

With the power of the Operation Fruit, Daniel could achieve great success in these fields. Becoming a Three-Star Hunter might be a stretch, but earning the One-Star title was certainly within reach.

One-Star Hunters were the most common in the Association, Two-Star Hunters were quite rare, and Three-Star Hunters were extremely scarce. In fact, many One-Star Hunters had achievements that could qualify them for Two-Star status, but they lacked one final requirement.

To become a Two-Star Hunter, one had to train at least one other person to become a One-Star Hunter—a mandatory condition to ensure the continuation of the Hunter Association.

Most Hunters valued freedom and adventure and rarely took the time to train others. Without this requirement, the Association would likely face a shortage of new talent within a few decades, threatening its prosperity.

PS: Sorry for the delay today. I got caught up chatting in the group because of some issues with the platform.

There have been some changes at the platform, and many of us less popular authors are feeling a bit anxious, haha.
