Ash: A Pokémon Tale

Chapter 37: Moment of Tranquility

Hello, Author here. I wasn't able to upload the chapter because my drafts got deleted, so I had to rewrite everything. Additionally, I was occupied with my other work. I'm truly sorry for the delay.

A few days had passed since Misty and I had caught Squirtle. The team was shaping up nicely, but I knew raw strength wasn't enough—we needed strategy and preparation.

That's why I sent Gyarados and Butterfree to Professor Oak's lab. Butterfree could refine its flight skills with Fearow and Pidgeot, while Gyarados could train the 3 Squirtle Oak was already caring for. They'd grow faster in a competitive environment.

While they trained, I focused on the Pokémon I had with me, battling wild Pokémon and working on our tactics. Every step forward felt like progress, but I knew the challenges ahead would only get tougher.

As we finally broke through the dense forest, the salty ocean breeze hit me before the view did. The endless stretch of water sparkled under the sun, waves crashing softly against the sandy shore.

"Wow, it's the ocean!" Misty's excited voice rang out as she sprinted toward the water, her face lighting up like she'd just found treasure.

I smirked, watching her. Classic Misty.

"Thanks for the update, Misty," Brock said with dry humor. "I was starting to think it was just a really big puddle."

Misty ignored him, her laughter mixing with the sound of splashing waves as she kicked at the water.

I stayed back, scanning the shoreline. My eyes landed on a Krabby lounging on the sand, its claws rhythmically clacking together as it basked in the sun. Perfect. I pulled out an empty Pokéball, taking aim.

"What's got your attention, Ash?" Brock asked, noticing my focus.

"Krabby," I replied. With a flick of my wrist, the Pokéball arced through the air, hitting the Krabby dead-on. It disappeared in a flash of red light. The ball wobbled once, twice… then clicked shut. Another addition to the team.

Hearing the sound, Misty jogged over, curiosity sparkling in her eyes. "Did you just catch a Pokémon? What was it?"

I held up the Pokéball. "Krabby. Thought it might come in handy later."

She raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms. "You didn't even check if it wanted to join you? Real charming, Ash."

"It's not about charm," I replied calmly. "It's about strategy. I'll bond with it when the time's right."

Brock chuckled. "I think Misty's projecting her own charm concerns onto Krabby."

"Ha-ha, very funny," Misty shot back, glaring at him. "Anyway, where are we camping tonight?"

The sun was dipping lower, its golden glow painting the ocean in hues of orange and pink. "It's getting late," I said, glancing at the horizon.

Brock nodded. "We should find a spot soon before it gets too dark."

Misty pointed toward a lighthouse perched on a rocky outcrop down the shore. "What about over there? Looks like a good spot to stay."

I studied it for a moment. It was Bill's lighthouse. "Fine by me."

"Works for me," Brock added. "Let's get going before we lose the light."

The walk along the beach was peaceful, the sound of waves and the calls of Wingull overhead blending into a soothing melody. The cool ocean breeze tugged at my hat, and for a moment, it felt like the weight of the journey eased just a little.

By the time we reached the lighthouse, the sky had deepened to a mix of purple and navy, the first stars peeking through. The massive door in front of us was adorned with intricate carvings of various Pokémon, each one etched with an almost lifelike detail.

"Wow, this door is huge," Misty said, running her fingers along the carvings, her voice filled with awe.

"It's a door, Misty. Just ring the bell already," Brock teased with a smirk.

With an exasperated huff, Misty pressed the doorbell. A muffled voice answered, "Who's there?"

"We're travelers passing through," Brock called back. "Could we stay the night? I can cook something delicious in exchange."

There was a brief pause before the voice replied, "All right, come in."

The heavy door creaked open, and darkness greeted us.

"Uh, sir? Could you turn on the lights?" Brock called out.

A click echoed, and the room lit up. My gaze immediately locked onto a massive Kabuto at the top of a staircase, its glossy shell gleaming under the chandelier's light.

"A giant Kabuto?" Misty yelped, eyes wide as she tugged on my sleeve. "Ash, look!"

I crossed my arms, my tone even. "Relax, Misty. It's not a real Kabuto. That's just someone in a costume."

She blinked, her expression shifting from shock to confusion. "What?"

Before she could process it further, a low chuckle echoed through the room. The Kabuto shifted, hissing as its shell opened. A man stepped out, smiling warmly.

"Welcome," he said. "I'm Bill, a Pokémon researcher and the keeper of this lighthouse."

Brock, always curious, stepped forward. "What kind of research do you do here, Bill?"

Bill adjusted his glasses, his smile widening. "Right now, I'm studying an unknown Pokémon. Something unlike anything anyone's seen before."

An unknown Pokémon?, He must mean the giant Dragonite.

"An unknown Pokémon?" Brock repeated, his interest piqued. "We'd love to see it."

"Absolutely!" Misty added eagerly.

I simply nodded.

Bill studied us for a moment before replying. "If you want to see it, you'll have to wait until midnight. That's when it usually appears."

Midnight. That gave us time.

"Well, we've got time to kill," Brock said, rolling up his sleeves. "Why don't I whip up some dinner while we wait? You'll love it."

Bill gestured toward the kitchen. "That sounds like a great idea."

As Brock headed off to cook, I decided to take a moment to explore the lighthouse. Pikachu had wandered off, probably chasing his curiosity somewhere nearby.

Climbing the spiral staircase, I found myself at the top, facing a large window that framed the endless ocean.

The waves shimmered under the fading light of the sunset, a mix of deep purples and oranges that seemed to stretch forever.

I let out a quiet sigh, enjoying the peaceful moment. With some time to spare, I pulled out my Arc Dex to check on my Pokémon's progress.

First up was Squirtle.

Despite being a recent addition to the team, its strong physical stats and moves like Metal Claw and Vice Grip made it a promising powerhouse.

I could already see its potential to shine in battles with the right training.

Satisfied with my progress, I closed the Arc Dex and glanced out at the ocean, savoring the quiet of the night.

The peaceful moment was suddenly interrupted when a pink ball of energy popped up in front of my face. It was Mew, darting around playfully, her giggle echoing in the air before she settled comfortably on my lap.

With nothing else to do, I gently placed my hand on her head and began petting her, enjoying the cool sea breeze.

"Thanks, Mew," I said softly, a small smile tugging at my lips. She tilted her head, her bright eyes locking onto mine as I continued, "For taking care of that human trash."

At my words, Mew's tail began to wag excitedly, and she covered her mouth with her tiny paws, letting out an amused giggle.

Her happiness was contagious, and I couldn't help but smile as I returned my gaze to the ocean, letting the tranquility of the moment wash over me.

But the peace was short-lived, as Misty's voice called out from below. "Ash, are you here?"

I glanced toward the stairs and called back, "Misty, I'm here."

She appeared a moment later, climbing up to the top. "What are you doing up here all alone?" she asked, her voice tinged with curiosity.

I instinctively glanced down at my lap, only to find it empty. Mew had vanished as quietly as she'd arrived. She must have left while I was lost in the moment. Turning back to Misty, I noticed her watching me, waiting for an answer.

"Just relaxing and gazing at the stars," I replied simply. Then, I tilted my head slightly and asked, "Why are you here? Need something?"

Misty hesitated for a moment, her eyes flicking to the side as if unsure how to respond. "I was just looking for you," she said finally.

I patted the spot in front of me and smiled, "Come on, sit down."

Misty blinked, looking at the spot I pointed to, then at me, her face flushing slightly. "Do I really have to sit there?" she asked, her voice uncertain.

I didn't say anything, just gestured again. After a moment of hesitation, Misty let out a resigned sigh. "Fine," she muttered under her breath, before awkwardly sitting down between my legs, her back lightly brushing against my chest as she settled into place.

After Misty sat down, I hugged her gently, resting my head on her shoulder. "Tell me, Misty," I asked softly, "why were you looking for me?"

"I was just searching for you," she replied quickly.

"Really?" I teased. "Here I thought you wanted to spend time with me."

Misty hesitated, her cheeks tinting pink. "N-No, I didn't!"

"You can be honest, you know," I said, smiling. As I began to move my hand up from her waist.

After a moment, she finally admitted, "Alright… I did want to spend some time with you."

"See, that wasn't so hard to accept," I replied, moving my hand under her top.

As misty asked, "Ash, what are you doing?"

"It's cold out here," I said. "But..." Misty started, but I cut her off, "Live a little, Misty."

As she finally relaxed, I moved my hand upward, grasping her breast and pinching her nipple. A moan escaped Misty's lips.

Looking into her reddened face, I asked, "Misty, do you want to kiss?" As I leaned in closer, Misty replied, "Yes," and we kissed.

Soon the innocent kiss quickly turned into a passionate makeout session. I squeezed Misty's breast and pinched her nipple.

My other hand started to slide down, reaching the hem of her shorts. I slipped my hand inside, arriving at her pussy. Slowly, I slid my finger in, teasing her. Misty let out a moan of pleasure.

But our intimate moment was interrupted by Brock's voice calling out, "Ash, Misty, dinner's ready!"

Hearing this, we both stopped. Misty finally regained her composure and tried to stand up hurriedly, but I stopped her, asking, "Did you like that?" Misty slowly nodded her head, then bolted downstairs, adjusting her clothes as she left.

Seeing her gone, I stood up and followed after her.
