Chapter 116: Chapter 117: Ristarte is Shocked for a Thousand Years

"Before we set out, I have a question. If I die in that world, what happens?" Han Yu asked.

Ristarte smiled reassuringly. "You'll simply return to your original world, and I won't be able to continue this mission. So don't worry, nothing serious will happen to you."

A faint trace of irritation flickered in Han Yu's eyes, but he quickly turned his head away to avoid letting Ristarte see it.

"I'm ready. Let's go."

Han Yu flexed his wrists. He had been preparing for nearly six days. If this level of preparation wasn't considered cautious, then he honestly didn't know what would be. Was he supposed to keep going even longer? At some point, it would stop being about caution and start raising concerns about his mental health.

"Great, great! First, let's head to a beginner's town and get you some proper equipment. You can't possibly go into battle wearing clothes from your original world… though, I must admit, they do look good on you."

Ristarte's nose suddenly felt warm again, and a trickle of blood slid out. Clearly, she was thinking about what was underneath Han Yu's clothes.

"Can you hurry it up?" Han Yu rolled his eyes. Is this really the goddess assigned to assist me? The things happening to her usually happen to men, don't they? Why was she off in her fantasies while he remained completely composed?

It was no wonder the system instructed him to complete the mission cautiously. If he let his guard down for even a moment, this goddess might actually cause his downfall.

"Apologies, apologies! I'll open it right away!" Ristarte said excitedly, almost hopping in place. Finally, they were about to depart, and that thought alone thrilled her. "Gaiabrand, here we go!"

The two of them stepped through the glowing portal. On the other side lay an endless expanse of vibrant green grasslands. In the distance, herds of cows and sheep grazed peacefully. The sky was a clear, unblemished blue. At first glance, it didn't seem like a world overrun by demonic forces.

"Enemies!"

Han Yu's relaxed expression abruptly sharpened as his gaze locked onto a specific spot. Behind some rocks, a few shadowy green figures lurked, quietly observing them.

Hearing him, Ristarte followed his gaze. A faint glow covered her eyes as if she were activating some sort of telescopic vision.

"Relax, relax! They're just a few goblins. In this area, they're considered beginner-level monsters. Even ordinary kids with wooden sticks can handle three or five of them. Wait… what are you doing?"

Ristarte's voice trailed off as brilliant flames began to rise from Han Yu's hand. In mere moments, the fire condensed into an enormous, blazing greatsword, its fiery glow reflecting in her wide eyes.

"Wh-What is this…?"

Ristarte stammered. She might not have known the exact technique, but she understood that forming physical weapons purely out of magical flames wasn't something just anyone could do. It required not only max-level fire magic but also an extraordinary level of control and affinity for flames.

The flaming sword radiated intense heat. Without answering her question, Han Yu hurled the fiery greatsword toward the goblins in the distance.

The sword traveled less than a hundred meters, but in that brief moment, it expanded to a massive size—dozens of meters long—before crashing down with devastating force.

A brilliant column of fire shot skyward, leaving Ristarte utterly stunned.

"Was… was that a finishing move? That had to be a finishing move! Who uses such a powerful attack on level-one mobs? What is wrong with this hero?!"

Her face was a portrait of shock and disbelief. But before she could recover, Han Yu raised his hands again, crossing them over each other. With a fluid motion, he spun his palms apart, summoning four or five smaller flaming swords that hovered between his hands.

"Kill!"

With a low growl, Han Yu thrust his palms forward, launching the flaming swords one after another. Each sword left a blazing trail in the air, rapidly transforming into colossal fiery weapons mid-flight. They struck the already devastated area with earth-shaking force.

Even if the goblins had somehow survived the initial assault, these follow-up attacks left no chance of escape. Han Yu had sealed off every possible path.

As the smoke and flames gradually dissipated, the spot where the goblins once stood was nothing but scorched earth. Not even a fragment of stone remained. The goblins had been obliterated, leaving behind no trace.

Ristarte stared blankly and said, "Hey, isn't this a bit excessive for just a few goblins? I get that it's your first time here, so you're being cautious. But listen, one of your skills is Ability Insight, right? You can use it to check an opponent's stats before attacking. Next time, take a look first—it's not too late to act afterward."

Han Yu replied casually, "I did look. Level 1 goblins. All their stats are in the single digits."

"You knew their stats were that low, and you still went all out like this?!" Ristarte was once again dumbfounded.

"I can't rule out the possibility that they were spies sent by the Demon King in disguise," Han Yu reasoned confidently. He was, after all, a veteran RPG player. This kind of scenario—where low-level monsters turn out to be deadly traps—was practically a genre cliché.

Even without the system warning him to be cautious, Han Yu would have acted the same way. He'd seen far too many protagonists meet their end in games or stories simply because they failed to finish off an enemy properly.

These events were usually used to push the plot forward, but in Han Yu's eyes, they were just infuriating. Did things always have to progress in such a brainless manner?

"Hmm… I'd better throw in a few more for good measure." Stroking his chin thoughtfully, Han Yu nodded to himself.

"Wait, what?!"

Before Ristarte could react, several smaller flaming swords appeared in Han Yu's hands again. He unleashed them towards the same spot where the goblins had been reduced to ash earlier. The level of destruction from this attack was powerful enough to defeat commanders serving directly under the Demon King.

Yet here he was, using it on already-obliterated level 1 goblins. The scene was nothing short of spectacular.

The sheer intensity of Han Yu's magic and the absurdity of his actions left Ristarte utterly speechless. It was a level of shock that would stay with her for a thousand years.

After a few minutes, Han Yu finally stopped his bombardment. He clutched his head with one hand and hissed through his teeth. "Hiss… Seems like I've burned through my MP bar a little too much."

"Well, what did you expect after spamming so many ultimate moves? Your MP must be nearly drained. Let me see how much you have left…"

Ristarte hurried over, glancing at the barren, scorched ground. Her stunned expression hadn't faded, but as a goddess, she had her responsibilities. She quickly accessed Han Yu's status screen.

"What the… What are these stats?!"

[Name: Han Yu]

[Level: 25]

[HP: 1200]

[MP: 120]

[Attack: 985 | Defense: 874 | Speed: 873 | Magic: 452 | Growth Rate: 299]

[Special Skills: Flame Magic (Lv. MAX), Experience Boost (Lv. 4), Ability Insight (Lv. 5)]

Level 25 after nearly six days of intense exercise was already an impressive feat. But the real kicker was his stats—most of them were pushing four digits. At this level, Han Yu's power could rival the Demon King's Four Heavenly Generals.

"This… This is ridiculous!" Ristarte exclaimed.
