Marvel’s Spider-Man: Across the Multiverse

Chapter 11: Chapter 10: The True Cause of Spider-Man's Death

As Peter watched his custom Spider Suit gradually take shape inside the cabinet, he couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement.

Who wouldn't dream of owning their own Spider Suit?

And this wasn't some cheap knockoff from an online store—this was the real deal, a genuine piece of high-tech craftsmanship!

Noticing Peter's enthusiasm, Aunt May pointed to a nearby corner. "There's a changing room over there. Go put it on and show us!"

"Got it!" Peter nodded eagerly and took the suit from the open cabinet.

Freshly completed, the suit still retained a slight chill from the argon treatment.

The advanced polymer fiber felt silky smooth, akin to the softness of a baby's skin—exceptionally comfortable to the touch.

Unable to contain his excitement, Peter dashed into the changing room, carrying the suit. He set aside his pajamas and slipped into the new suit.

At first glance, the suit looked loose and baggy—much like a regular T-shirt.

But this wasn't an ordinary suit.

The design heavily referenced the suit Tony Stark had made for Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

Peni had integrated soft carbon fiber composite circuits into the suit, cleverly hiding them between layers of material.

Additionally, the suit featured an energy conversion system that could store electricity by converting Peter's kinetic energy into power as he moved.

This stored energy partly fueled the suit's built-in smart assistance system and could also be released entirely when needed to simulate an electric shock.

Of course, the shock wasn't very powerful—roughly equivalent to a stun baton.

However, in battle, such a move could be surprisingly effective.

Even if an opponent had enhanced physical resilience, as long as they weren't completely immune to electricity, the shock would create an opening.

Sometimes, a mere 0.1-second hesitation could completely change the outcome of a fight!

As for the smart assistance system, it was far from being as advanced as "Karen," the AI in Tom Holland's Spider Suit.

Still, Peter could issue voice commands to it, like marking objects for tracking on an electronic map or connecting to nearby radios, broadcasts, and public channels for information.

Though limited in scope, Peter was quite pleased with it.

After all, he didn't have a massive team backing him up. Even a simple system like this could save him a lot of trouble.

The changing room had a full-length mirror.

After putting on the suit, Peter stood in front of it to check himself out.

Surprisingly, it fit perfectly—and it looked amazing!

Initially, Peter had made a small miscalculation: the suit was extremely form-fitting, so it required a good physique to look right.

If he had worn this suit with his old physique, it would've looked awkward at best.

But now, thanks to the enhancements from the spider gene, he had developed some visible abs and a well-proportioned physique.

He crouched slightly, placing one hand on the floor, mimicking Spider-Man's iconic landing pose.

His solid, lean muscles were neither overly bulky nor too slim, making him look like a sleek, powerful predator—a leopard poised to strike.

After trying a few more poses, Peter grew increasingly satisfied with both himself and the suit.

It was perfect!

He spent a few more moments admiring his reflection before hearing Spider-Noir calling out to him from outside.

"Hey, handsome young man, are you too shy to come out?"

Peter realized he had been admiring himself in the mirror for quite some time.

Hurriedly, he stepped out of the changing room.

"Wow!" Spider-Ham bounced over, stood on tiptoes, and gave Peter's abs a playful tap. "Solid! You've got some great potential here."

Peni, lounging atop her spider mech, swung her legs beneath her short JK skirt. "Looks like our teamwork paid off~ This suit is perfect! Not bad, if I do say so myself!"

"Thank you, Peni," Peter said, bending down to give Spider-Ham a fist bump before waving gratefully at Peni with a smile.

He then turned to Aunt May and expressed his thanks to her as well.

After some playful banter among the group, Aunt May's smile gradually faded.

"Kids, there's something I need to ask of you."

Peter immediately stepped forward. "Aunt May, just tell us. If it's something I can do, I'll do everything I can!"

Whether it was to repay Aunt May for her generosity in funding his Spider Suit, or the sense of responsibility tied to his newfound powers and his role as Spider-Man, Peter couldn't find a reason to refuse.

The others—Spider-Noir, Spider-Ham, and Peni—remained silent but fixed their eyes on Aunt May, waiting for her to continue.

Aunt May pressed a button on the nearby computer, and a virtual screen was projected into the center of the underground room.

"The truth is, I have a good idea of how Peter died!" Aunt May said through gritted teeth, her eyes reddening.

Sensing her distress, Peni hugged Aunt May around the waist.

Aunt May patted Peni's head gently and said, "I'm fine, sweetheart."

Then, as Aunt May began recounting her story, Peter and the others finally pieced together some details.

As expected, Wilson Fisk—Kingpin—was involved!

Last Monday, a mysterious earthquake shook Brooklyn's underground.

The earthquake was unusual and wasn't caused by tectonic activity, so this world's Spider-Man went to investigate.

He quickly discovered that Kingpin was behind it.

Kingpin had built a massive particle collider beneath Brooklyn, intending to open a portal to parallel universes in the hope of finding his deceased wife and son.

Fortunately, his first attempt failed—likely due to insufficient preparation.

But Kingpin wasn't deterred and planned a second attempt eleven days later, which happened to be today.

Naturally, this world's Spider-Man couldn't let him succeed.

Opening a portal to parallel universes could have catastrophic consequences.

Spider-Man went to stop him and tried to destroy the collider.

But his efforts failed, and he lost his life in the process.

"So, it was Kingpin who killed him!" Peter exclaimed, his eyes widening in shock.

He vividly remembered seeing Kingpin shedding crocodile tears, passionately claiming how much he admired Spider-Man and how close they were. It was all an act!

And what an act it was!

Even Peter, who had seen alternate realities, knew Kingpin's character well, and had even fought him in his own world, was almost fooled.

No wonder others trusted Kingpin's facade so deeply.

If this man weren't a crime lord, he could've been an Oscar-winning actor.

Spider-Noir's expression turned grim. "It's time he learned how cold the winds of another world can be."

Spider-Ham raised his stubby arms in a fist. "Let's show him the power of a mighty hog slap!"

"No," Aunt May interrupted tearfully. "The most important thing is to stop him from using that collider again!"

Peni looked up at Aunt May, her eyes determined. "Aunt May, we'll stop him. I promise!"

The spider mech let out a mechanical growl of agreement: "Grr!"
